Well that was different, but hey thumbs up! It was hot. My next door neighbour actually owns 2 alpaca's, and it's only a 5 minute walk, I see them quite often. So I can only imagine how this looked in my mind.

Well, after doing a bit of research, I learned that Alpacas and equines mate quite differently. I do understand that this is in fact a work of fiction, but injecting a bit of realism doesn't really hurt.

Anyhow... while equines breed the "normal" quadrupedal way (male mounts with both standing, humps a bit, finishes and dismounts); Camelids (the scientific family alpacas are under) don't breed in this method. Instead, the female kneels down on the ground, and the male climbs on top of her like that. The male then pushes in very deep once, penetrates her cervix, and ejaculates directly inside her uterus at both horns for up to 50 min(!). He then pulls out and dismounts.

Second fun fact: Aplacas are "induced ovulators", which means they'll only ovulate after breeding.
