The price

It was two months since the incident in Dodge Junction. Because of the accident, Applejack and Rainbow Dash lost the competition. But, As Applejack promised, she gave Rainbow Dash a chance. They started to date, and it all went good. Rainbows newfound feelings got stronger, and slowly but sure, Applejack started to love her cyan friend too.

They decided to live together at the farm. Rainbow Dash sold her house, and with the money, they restored the old barn.

Rainbow Dash was laying on the couch with her favourite Daring Do book, while Applejack laid with her hind hoofs on Rainbows shoulder. Listening to Rainbows story.

“But then, Daring Do took her lasso, and threw it around the ancient artefact, and snapped it away from the evil doctor…” Rainbow Dash got interrupted by a knock on the door. “Were you expecting somepony?” she asked her marefriend.

“No,” Applejack responded. “And it’s pretty late now too.” Rainbow Dash walked to the door and sighed. “I was just getting comfy.” And she opened the door. A lavender alicorn stood in the doorway.

Applejack sat up in the couch, and looked at the pony who got in. “Twilight? What are you doin’ here at this hour?”

“I’m sorry. I hope I didn’t interrupt something?” she blushed.

“No, It’s fine.” Rainbow Dash smiled. “But may I ask why you’re here?”

Twilight took a quill and a scroll from under her wings. “I was bringing these. It’s been two months since the competition, and you still haven’t wrote a letter to princess Celestia.”

Applejack and Rainbow Dash looked at each other “Right.”

“Dear Princess Celestia.

First of all, our apologies for the delay, but we were distracted by really important things.

Two months ago, we competed together, for a big prize. That didn’t go very smoothly. We argued in the first round. Which almost caused our undoing. But it went better in the second round.

The longer I competed, the more I started to think. And at the end, I realised I wasn’t competing for the money. But for my friend.

I realised what my feelings were. I used to compete with Applejack before. She always gave me a strong feeling. I thought it was fear. Fear for failing, because she’s the only pony who can keep up with me, and understand me.

But after a while, I realised that It was something stronger.

I am so happy to pronounce that we’re living happily together now. Loving and caring each other.

Some ponies said I lost the competition, but if you’d ask me, I won the best price I could ever dream of.

Your loving and faithful subjects

Rainbow Dash and Applejack”
