This story is a sequel to Bardock Lives
Note: This is a side-story to Bardock Lives. Goku replaces Bardock as the Alien visitor.
Goku has realised that neither he nor Frieza will escape Namek's destruction. With the tyrants ship destroyed, the universe's strongest warrior has no choice but to accept his death with grace. That is until he spots a space pod, one with the Ginyu sigil on the hatch.
Twilight has been looking forward to a night of stargazing with her friends and family. She'd literally been counting the seconds until the day arrived. What she wasn't expecting was a large grey orb with a red eye to fall from the sky.
Takes place between seasons 2 & 3 of MLP

Goku isn't an idiot or at least in sense like someone like Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin. Goku is just really simple-minded and dense to well a lot of things. An idiot wouldn't be able to use techniques like the Kaioken or survive in battles against enemies like Piccolo, Vegeta and Freeza!
But he is an idiot in the sense that he doesn't pay much attention or even care for some social norms, he did grow up alone in the mountains since his adoptive grandfather died. He did learn as he traveled the world and Chi Chi most likely hammered them some manners into him. But overall I think will without a doubt answer honestly when asked about himself. Like for example:

Oh well I was raised on this planet called Earth, I sent there as a baby to conquer it since I belong to this alien warrior race called the saiyans. They were hired by other races to wipe out dominant species of other planets for a price and were really good at it. I would have done the same but an old man found me and took me in, raising me as his own despite my violent attitude. Then one day I fell down a cliff, busted my head on a rock and I nearly died but because of that I forgot my mission and lost my aggression. Still though I loved to fight and train to get stronger in order to fight even stronger opponents......
Yeah I'm going to stop there but my point is that Goku will be honest with the ponies and will without a doubt make a very unique and awkward first impression.
