Twilight Sparkle wakes up and finds out that there is a bucket laying in the middle of her bedroom for no apparent reason. It feels so odd to the alicorn that she decides to find out what this object is doing there and how it came into her home.

This was a fun, random read. Really deserves -and plays well of- the tag. All this while on the topic of current events.

Have a thumb.
Well played.

“Buck it! This is ridiculous.” Twilight said to herself.

Pun intended?

Heh, 'buck it'. Anyway, I'm glad you used my prompt to get some writing done, though you shouldn't have felt too compelled to do so, sleep is important. :unsuresweetie: Seeing this story and the few others made the whole thing worthwhile I think.

So... that happened. I really did write that story. It feels like waking up the next morning after having been drinking a lot and watching all the stupid things that were done.
Damages are minimal it seems.

Thanks.

Really deserves -and plays well of- the tag.

At the time, I put the random tag because it was the only one I could use without spoiling the content of the story. It wasn't even supposed to be random :scootangel:, it just takes place in a dream, so of course things can't happen in the same way as in reality.

Is "Buck" a pun? The only intention with that part was to say: "Twilight finds dealing with a bucket ridiculous and decides to go away from it". This in order to show one type of reaction people can have about the ice bucket challenge and acknowledging it.
And also because it was serving the structure I wanted to have (to help make the rain come).

Thanks.
And thanks.

Heh, 'buck it'.

[edit: Iron Sky just explained it to me] This seems to have left sort of a strong bad impression. Is the use of the term "Buck" so problematic? I know americans don't like swearing, but still, it seems odd to me. How do you express frustration without swearing?

though you shouldn't have felt too compelled to do so, sleep is important.

I felt compelled to write. And when it happens, I have to answer the call. (I think I might otherwise explode or something)
I'm just happy that (after re-reading it this morning), it didn't turn out as badly as it could have. I was very tired...

Seeing this story and the few others made the whole thing worthwhile I think.

Glad you could enjoy our exploitation of your pitch. At first, I thought I would use it as a mini-tribute to you, but to be honest, a tribute is supposed to be good and that isn't. Also, a tribute should be related to what you do... And you probably don't need a tribute anyway :twilightsheepish:.

I didn't think of that :rainbowlaugh:. Buck-it / Bucket. You're right.
Well, nope, I can't take this one as my own: it escaped my french speaking ear. Too bad, it's actually quite good.
