Hmm it is really a bit special since this is about space and somehow i remember a certain anime as i had read about a space academy.
I got myself a little spoiler for the next chapter of your story and i think it is going to be interessting.
I think i can enjoy the story, it feels like those kind of storys/movies which i would have to read a bit about it, gathering knowledge or something like that, befor i can really love it, but i somehow like it already.

This story seriously needs more attention, it's amazing... Just one question, is Equestria in this case an alternate Earth, or are we humans and our old friends the Vuclans and (errr... Frenemies I guess theyd be called) the Klingons still out there somewhere in this universe, as the presence of Romulans would strongly support.
5691586 Equestria is it's own world and Earth is it's own place. I won't spoil anything but Klingons are still there too and everyone else at the time. This is the Enterprise era with Captain Archer just to be clear. So were talking the NX-01 before Kirk was even born or a thought. Glad you like it so far, just hope that fact doesn't dissuade you.

I'm fine with it being in the Enterprise era, it's more how the crew in the show was presented that bothered me a bit.. But at times they really managed to make the crew show their best at well... Captain Archer was the only character i had hard time , but I didn't hate any of them, and like I said, for all they're flaws (a lot of them too) the crew of the NX-01 Enterprise certainly had some bright moments where they shined, even Archer. The time period itself I actually really enjoy, up until Enterprise came around the time between first contact and the federation's formation was seemingly a complete mystery with no real answer as to how it was... Enterprise gave us that answer, and honestly... I think a lot of people over reacted. One of my major problems with it is that they cancelled it just when it was actually starting to get good, and that the finale didn't really feel like an Enterprise episode, it felt more like a TNG episode.
Also, kind of edited it a bit... I decided I was kind of babbling too much, but ended babbling more anyway,, but I'll put it back best I can right quick, ahem:]
I think going in, a lot of people were expecting the 'perfect' humanity of the other series like TNG and even some episodes of voyager (another one I think a lot of people over reacted too for not having 'perfect' enough humans) and DS9 (it's hard to paint a species at war in a seemingly 'perfect' light, but rarely, even this awesome series fell back on this trope)
Plus, one thing they miss is that Enterprise is only in the 22nd century! When in the Star trek universe, in the mid-21st, World war 3 basically caused a temporary collapse of human civilization, with most of the major governments GONE and those left likely just trying to keep their own people alive. Even if Earth was united and most of the bad things from it gone, it was just... It was impossible, or at I feel it was impossible, for the humans of the other Star Trek series to realize themselves yet, the metaphorical shockwave of world war 3 was just starting to pass and the ripples were still being felt everywhere. Terra Prime is proof of that when you think about it, their backstory, if only a bit, was tied into the aftermath of the war.
And Pinkie as the engineer? Admiral, there be parties and hilarity here!... Sorry, couldn't resist. But yea, this should be awesome...
I do have to wonder though if there's some connection between Earth and Equis, they have similar calenders at this time, similar ship ship prefixes.. And the names of the one's who piloted their first warp drive ships are eerily similar (I do have to wonder how ponies will react when they find out that most of the galaxy calls it an entirely different name... Probably not that badly, just some mild curiosity... They may assume every race would have their own name for it...)
And another thing... If some members of the Mane Six and Background Characters are alive now... Who replaced them in the timeline? Pinkie Pie had a very profound impact, for her to be alive now, someone very similar would've had to replace her earlier on in the timeline or history would be altered significantly. And Trixie, while not as crucial to the timeline, had some very important moments... Gah, maybe i'm over thinking this, sorry if my constant babbling is annoying you... I'm told I over think things like a lot...
Y'know, it's an interesting choice to give Equestrians disruptors, a lot of times I see them in stories having developed phasers. I thought it was weird the Feds and Cardassians seem to be the only ones in canon who use phasers, and even the Cardassians phasers were modified, they weren't just the normal phasers like the Feds use and - GAH I'M DOING IT AGAIN, I'M SOSOS SORRY ABOUT THE BABBLING!
5691818 I know right! We see the formation of the Federation to the United Federation of Planets and it was kind of half ass done, I do agree with that. The next season would have been awesome if the rumors about it were true. Rumor was that Tpol was actually part Romulan and there was going to be a whole Romulan arch if it had continued another season. Cause we know Romulans hate feeling threatened and thus their beef with the federation would have been born and explained rather than that's just how it always was.
I also liked how first contact tied into the show this that episode Regeneration.It was a nice change of pace, but true to the franchise they pulled some shit out of their asses to combat the threat. In my opinion. Perhaps it makes sense since it was only Phlox who was infected and not an entire ship, but it felt very lazy to me.
As for the flaws, I feel that's what really made the show. Like you said, WWIII just ended relatively recently, the Earth was split into factions such as Terra Prime and so on and so forth. Thus a perfect crew without flaws would have felt, odd. We gradually see everyone develop into better people as the show progresses on, like Archer grows a pair and finally uses force, when necessary. I liked it second only to the TNG.

I don´t know how much of the ship, and Crew interactions i can read here, but it starts to get interessting. (The word (interaction) seems not to be the one i wanted to use, but i talked about the Crew and how much they are talking with each other.
Is she still in love with Spitfire? I think you know that i like that pairing, but i would not mind it either, if it would be a different pairing this time.
Suddenly i start to think, that it would be funny if one retard of the group, would be allowed to get through with his antics, and even could talk to the Captain normally. I guess that the Crew has probably great respect from her position, and expect that no one can just talk to her, and i just want to see some shocked expression.

I like the chapter, but somehow i am a bit suprised, that it looks like Trixies first action as a Captain, are the worst she could have done.
I think Octavia was a bit to passive, while Trixie was maybe to aggressive in her fighting plan.
I think i understood, that this was not a know Enemie right?, then i would have been a bit more curious about them, but still a bit wary, i guess i would have been a mix from Octavia/Trixie. For me it means that i really like the idea of Trixie, and Octavia as countervailing Commanders.
I am not sure if Octavia should really try to relieve Trixie from her position, because one decision against an unknown enemy went bad. That one or two ponys have to die in a fight would be probably normal, it is just bad that it was her first fight. I think she have to get a bit experience in a few fights, befor she can live up to her title, Octavia probably only want to play it safe, that means she isn´t the best one to command in a fight either.
I think they need both of them.
To be honest i maybe think the action came to fast, but i like it. If i understand this right, the Humans are attacking the Ponies and everything else right?.....wow they are assholes. I hope Trixie can change some of her systems, it seems she got a bad ship, because of forbidden material, and well the ship itself wasn´t really prepared thanks to Pinkie Pie probably.

True, Trixie was aggressive in her stance on the enemy ship, but they knew they attacked the space station they were going to, which was giving a distress call AND the ship attacked them first.
At the same time, Trixie acted rashly but that was due to bad luck. But she endangered the ship and crew, but if she hadn't they would have died. So, who was really at fault?
Star Trek is known for giving these situations to the captain all the time, and he/she must make impossible decisions that affect entire nations, space nations, and even the crew.
Makes you wonder...

In that move there was only 80 something personnel in the Enterprise B, no torpedoes, no weapons for that matter, and they used the deflector dish to fix the problem. The hydra was in a sense ready to fight, it was just on par with the Romulan ship.

I had already seen a story with that kind of role allocation, and i always liked it more, if just everyone that want to do something, that they can do it if they want, if you know what i mean.

I don´t know much about Enterprise, but this is getting better, and better, you keep it even interessting enough for me.

I know it's hard to follow when you aren't familiar with the show, but that's all there is right now. Lt Sunny Smiles a.k.a. Sunset Shimmer is a member of the Hydra.

The whole thing with Trixie being risky, is this. Octavia is very reserved in her approach to everything. She aint subtle, but she does believe in going by the book with everything. So when Trixie did the whole blackhole thing it scared her. She never realized how much responsibility being a captain was, and now has a better respect for what Trixie did against the Romulans. Everyone on the ship is Trixie's responsibility, their deaths lay heavily on her and now Octavia, who fears that very outcome is now in charge. Hence why she's reacting so violently in the chapter. I spoiled this part so other readers won't feel cheated.

I have over seven I want to write but I only focus on three a this moment. Fist is Trixie Secretary Extraordinaire! TSE!) and then Adventures Across Space, then Wonderbolt my Heart. (TSE!) is almost done then I will focus on my other two stories before I even consider writing the rest of them. I can't stand when so many good stories get canceled or put on hiatus cause the authors can't sit down with one idea for too long. I get it. I really do, it's hard to focus on one idea all the time. That's why I have three stories.
But i will never cancel them. I love these stories too much.

Yeah i am more or less sure, that i understand Trixie, and Octavia here, the only thing about what i didn´t thought that way, was probably, that i didn´t thought Octavia was to much after her precious book, and well i think at least now it is clear that she is affraid.

To be honest yes i am sad for every good story to end, but every good story is going to end sooner or later, but maybe you could make and open end, maybe you want to write a sequel in the future, not to soon, but that way it is still possible.

6081616 I do have other stories about love, but its a displacement story about Lightning Dust and Trixie from the human world, Equestria Girls as Soviet MIG pilots. It takes place after Rainbow Rocks so Trixie wasn't in the battle of the Bands, but the Dazzlings were. The story goes on based on what happened at the end of Rainbow Rocks with that worlds Twilight connecting all the anomalies to the high school.
In the story the Soviets think their enemy, America, where the school is located, is building a super weapon and send their best pilots to investigate. Then they end up in Equestria. I spoiled too much but I think I can give you a sneak peak if you're interested?

If you ever need to look up the things in the story and it'll make more sense. I play games like ace combat and read a lot about military aviation so I'm very familiar with everything in the story. 6453966 It is a thing the military does with their rules which are called regulations. I don't know if you know what this one is so here's what they were talking about. In the military, or any armed forces, two people are not allowed to intermingle, date, etc, due to it being a conflict of interest.
Now star trek is very liberal about this and easy going but even they kept the whole someone cant date someone from the same group or anyone in teh service they are part of. Its more complicated than that but that's the jist of it. I hope that cleared it up for you.
