Before the crusaders, there was the three hazards of Ponyville. It's been ten years since the hazards promised to meet again some sunny day. The promise thay made that day will shine through the trouble that split them apart in the years after.

With help from JumbledThought, and Rinnaul.

I want to meet the person who dislikes things by NOT reading them

Scootaloo giggled. “We might have to try this. Too bad you guys are too old to do this now.”

:twilightoops:

I suppose Scootaloo is just too young to know what not to say to a group of drunk ponies.

This. This is good.

this is absolutely adorable!!

11/10 would totally read again :eeyup::eeyup::eeyup::eeyup::eeyup::eeyup::eeyup::eeyup::eeyup:

Before reading this, I do have a few reservations about you including Spitfire as one of the three first-gen crusaders, or "hazards" as you call them here. First, considering that Spitfire represented Cloudsdale in the Equestria Games, I'm fairly certain she's Cloudsdale born and raised. Second, she's the current captain of the Wonderbolts, which means she has to be significantly older than all of the Mane 6. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if all of the current Wonderbolts are older than the Mane 6, including the rainbow-maned pegasus who idolizes them.

4872145 As would I.

Whoever did that is an absolute jerk!:twilightangry2:

4872867

As for where she lives, you can make any back story work. That's easy to explain away.

The age thing... If we assume AJ is a little older than Dash, and Spitfire was the oldest of the hazards, we can have a Spitfire that is 4-5 years older that Dash, but still a childhood friend of AJ.

Throw in some assumptions that Spitfire's parents were in the guard, and got her fast tracked when she joined the guard at a young age (running away from her problems in Ponyville).

While Dash spent several years working her way up the weather team to become manager. Setting her several years behind in her training, and application process.

So yea, it's a stretch, but it works.

So, did AJ leave the booze there fully knowing that the Crusaders will most likely continue following in their hoofsteps? :ajsmug: :scootangel:

4872382 There are days when I think Scoots is smarter than she lets on...

That was really nice. Can't help but feel it could use a bit more of an extended ending there. Otherwise, it was a nice glimpse at some old friends getting back together to do something stupid one last time.

Have a like. Let me know if you ever add more to that ending though.

4873397 It was perhaps the cutest and most subtly insightful bit to how well Scootaloo the scootiest scooterific scooterer in Ponyville, has scooted those paths in her time growing up on her scooter that may or may not have some sort of awesome backstory to how and why she was given one.

Though Twilight Time essentially makes having a scooter like stupid common to a point even Pipsqueak has one he can barely ride, it doesn't mean Scoots can't have a nice story to go with hers. :rainbowdetermined2:

But yeah, nice catch there. That was a cute scene, and of course she'd be the one to say the magical words that set off those three to prove the filly just how NOT SO OLD they are. I almost bet Scoots was even daring them with those words. :scootangel:

Great story. Wish it had more to show us with these three. A fine Slice of Life story right here.

That was a delightful read

it would have been better if Apple Bloom and the other Crusaders promised to do what Applejack did. a promise 10 years in the future, to return to the old tree house.

Oh my, this story is just too cool! GREAT, GREAT work. A sequel of the CMC (in ten years) would be just ( in not better) as GREAT! I loved what Mr. Cake said. Keep up the great work.

4873227

Yes, yes she did.

4874530

I second this. With the stipulation that a prequel about the formation of the Hazards would also be welcome.

4876135

Thirded. Maybe some flashback overlaid with the CMC.

I can only imagine the questions Rainbow Dash will have for Applejack. :rainbowderp:

4878079

:rainbowderp: I can't believe you never told me you were Spitfire's best friend through primary school!

:ajbemused: We weren't exactly talking after she broke off the engagement with my cousin.

:rainbowhuh: Waite... What?

:ajsmug: If it makes it up to you, I'll let you use my second season pass.

:rainbowhuh: Season what? Let me look at that... These are box seats, with back stage access!
:rainbowkiss: Applejack, will you marry me?

:ajbemused:

This was a delight. I really liked the idea - though having the Hazards be the 'worst' of the two groups might make the Crusaders try harder.

That will not end well.

4878181 sounds like a fic to me!
I love the changes.

I can already picture Shineing Armor, Big Mac, and Snowlflake (or Roid rage) doing even stupider shit

So, does this make them the Duchesses of Hazard? :ajsmug:

First off, what 4874067 said.

Second off, I am damned impressed and request more to be added to this.

And third off, my shit eating grin was on my face from the moment they started talking about jumping town hall, all the way till now; ten minutes after I finished reading it.

Good job.

~AnimatedGamer

... honestly they made it, there all alive

totaly worth it.

I'd actually like to hear about the dumbest thing the hazards did... :twilightblush:

Great story! Few typos: "twilight", "Mr cake" and "when when".

I see this as an escalating scenario. Applejack will be telling stories, the CMC will get ideas... And Discord thought HE could cause trouble!

As I'm sure a few others have said, this could stand to be looked over by an editor.

Also, minor gripe of mine, but I don't think Pinkie can ask a question so...flatly. I feel like after asking the question, she'd have rambled on with a few different guesses, some of which are nonsensical.

But, this seems interesting. Gonna keep tabs on this.

I know what the three hazards are: Daisy, Bo, and Luke. :trollestia:

~Crystalline Electrostatic~

4878181
:raritystarry: After a proposal like that, how can you say no, Applejack?

You realize of course that there must now be sequels and prequels to this story, yes? Please, yes?

4879058
Oh hell yeah!

4887568

I have a rough story in my mind, about how they met. I might put that to paper one weekend.

As for the CMC in 10 years... I don't know. What I love about the CMC is their potential. They're forever on the cusp of greatness, but not yet limited by the shackles of destiny. I'm not sure if I could preserve that feel with adult CMC. That said, I have a good feel for where both the hazards, and crusaders end up in another 10 years. I might approach it as a series of little vignettes. We'll see.

4886526

I must confess, when I was 6, My Dukes of Hazard big wheel, was my favorite toy.

Didn't care for the show though, I just like it because of the break that would let you slide in it. Now Air Wolf, I loved that show.

Update*

Read this fresh again with the changes. All I have to say...

“What dark god in Tartarus have I angered, to have the hazards and the crusaders decide to lob a wagon at town hall?” Mayor Mare said. She was not amused.

It's Magic. :rainbowlaugh:

This is perfect. Tossing this beauty into my fiction vault!

This story is wonderful. I can't wait to see what you might release next. Best of luck, and thanks for loving your story enough to give it such a lovely closure.

Kinda' disappointed in the lack of a Dukes of Hazzard reference, but still good; take a thumb, sir/madame!

4874108 Well, there is still a half bottle of liqueur and three glasses in the treehouse...

4911963
Don't forget that the spell formula was written on the tag too.

This was excellent. I would _LOVE_ to read more about "The Hazards" misadventures. :scootangel:

Please do a series on the Hazards :yay:

4929029
Err… Mah… :trollestia:That sounds awesome!!

I adore this. It NEEDS a sequel! :rainbowlaugh:

Would it be morally wrong to make a second account just to fave this twice?

This was awesome. We need either a prequel showing the Hazards in their youth, or a sequel where something is afoot in Ponyville and the Hazards need to reunite in order to combat the darkness. Either way, liked and favorited.

I wrote a review for this story here.

Well then.

God save us all if the Hazards should ever meet the Dukes.

Hehe, I really enjoyed this one. I would love to read more re-tellings of the Hazards' antics.
