“Okay, I can easily do that for you Foxglove.” A little squirrel with red hair in a braid wearing purple shirt and some brown shorts answered to the little bat, most humans would ignore the fact that she was wearing clothing and or overlook the general signs of intelligence that most animals showed.

“Thank you Tammy, can you tell the rangers that I’m helping save someone’s life if they ask?” Foxglove didn’t have any luggage to take with her given she wasn’t big on material possessions; she didn’t have any place to put them if she was.

“So where are you heading off to?” The squirrel was rather inquisitive; she had wanted to travel around helping people too. Either that or she’d become a medic since the rangers got themselves roughed up so often. She just wanted to help as much as Foxglove did.

“Hawaii, don’t know what place in Hawaii exactly though. I’ll be traveling with someone who knows their way around so it shouldn’t be too bad a trip to get there.” At least Foxglove thought it would be a relatively simple trip; later on she would look back on this conversation and laugh about how naïve she had been.

“Well be careful since you might run into Gadget’s evil twin there, I believe her name was Lahwhinie? From what the case file says, she looks exactly like Gadget so if you see a mouse like her anywhere your going in that area, just leave her alone unless she’s in danger or something.” Shaking her head Tammy considered a few other things to ask as she flicked and flexed her tail muscles indiscriminately. “How do you even spell a name like that correctly? Her parents must not have liked her very much. Anyway, can I meet your traveling companions and be there to see you off when it’s time for you to go?”

“Sure, but isn’t your mother or little sister going to be concerned about where you are?” Seeing that she wasn’t about to get a response other than the squirrels crossed arms, Foxglove roller her eyes and then smiled. “Well you should at least let your family know that you’re going to be with me for a while before I go on an important business trip.”

It was minutes later that they came upon a strange scene with three humans facing down Bonnie, Foxglove led Tammy up to Fluttershy where they took a seat in the audience that was watching whatever it was that was about to start.

Tammy was a little weary of the large human with the sunglasses and general clothes a government spook would wear, she was skittish around any human and there were six of them here. She could already tell Bonnie wasn’t normal and she had already been introduced to Stanley the Troll, it was hard to believe that the Rescue Rangers hadn’t met him yet considering they’ve seen ghosts, leprechauns and a living mummy. Aside from that the weirder creatures were also something Tammy considered, including the one that looked like a wheel and was softly puttering as it sat there.

“What’s going on Fluttershy?” Foxglove took a position next to Fluttershy, where Roller, Shush and Fu were sitting.

“I’ll field this one; apparently the warrior monks over there issued a challenge to see whether or not the Lunar Locket Fluttershy is wearing will be well defended. It’s pretty dangerous object so we’re going to allow them test the ones who will be defending it while on our turf.” Fu was a magical guardian and he’d protect anyone who needed his help regardless of his feelings as long as they weren’t a world ending danger. “Depending on how well Bonnie handles them, they might leave outright. If they can beat her, Roller here is their next challenger and so on. The entire point is making sure that the locket won’t fall into the wrong appendages and in my line of work it happens even if you’re strong enough to do so.”

“I don’t think they’ll be able to touch her unless she lets them.” It was a blank observation and Fluttershy knew it was the truth. Bonnie had quick reflexes that allowed her to avoid harm and injury by moving at speeds that even robots would have problems with hitting her. “I will be upset with her later if she hurts them too much, as right now I can’t get upset. Being able to only feel positive things should be scary to me and I think I’ll have nightmares about this later. That is assuming the effects work even while I’m asleep, I wonder if this would necessarily mean I’m immune to nightmares? That is a pleasant thought with disturbing connotations.”

It had been one of the things Fluttershy saw on the after action report of what Bonnie managed to accomplish back on Planet Z. An angry Bonnie was something to truly fear, considering how many hyper hornets she had totaled and with little effort compared to how much trouble they should have been for her. They were definitely something you didn’t take down on foot with minimal weaponry like a blaster; Bonnie had definitely scared Grand Councilwoman Veritas when it was told just how many of those she had taken down by herself in a fit of complete rage doing just that.

If that was how much destruction she could cause as a berserker, then what was she like when she was doing the same thing only with cold calculating controlled fury? How dangerous was she actually in a normally clear headed and playful mood alone? Anyone would quickly learn to not underestimate the crafty little green alien who was only slightly bigger than the proclaimed ‘dragon of water’ named Omi.

-

At the moment Bonnie just looked rather playful as she danced from foot to foot and took up a faux boxer pose and threw a few quick jabs into air in a humorously unrealistic manner. It was obvious that she wasn’t taking the three warriors before her seriously. Kimiko, Omi and Raimundo didn’t seem to be taking her seriously either; they didn’t think Bonnie looked all too dangerous. Bonnie might not be as smart as she tries to make herself out to be, but she was still one of the smarter experiments in existence given she outsmarted Stitch who could think at super computer speeds.

Pulling out a strip of cleaned red cloth, after which Bonnie unstrapped her holster with the glass knife in it and moved over to pass it off to Shush. She gave her sister a hard look making sure that she understood that there would be consequences should she lose it. Holding the red cloth before her she slowly wrapped it around her forehead, after tying it off to leaving two tails streaming down to her shoulders she marched out to the three waiting fighters.

“I’m ready, so bring it on and let me show you what I can do. Oh and you better come at me all at once.” Taking on a haughty tone Bonnie looked at the three monks with a smirk. “Also just a fair warning, don’t blink.”

“Yeah, like I’m going to miss a minute of myself kicking your butt. Stand back guys I can handle this, ready to call it Clay?” Planning on wiping the smirk off of that insufferable face Raimundo cracked his knuckles and prepared to show Bonnie what he was made of. “You don’t look like much; do you have any formal training?”

“Nope, I don’t have any formal training at all. I’m not a master of any kind of combat whatsoever.” Bonnie answered simply as she stretched out, preparing herself for what she was about to do and it helped to be limber for it. What she was failing to mention to Raimundo was that she had quite a bit of eclectic learning. All of her six hundred and twenty five brothers and sisters were rather rowdy after all. When you have that many diverse opponents to roughhouse with you were definitely going to pick up a lot of dirty tricks for almost any situation.

“Right then, y’all get ready and…. start!” Neither opponent moved, Clay was surprised that Raimundo was actually scoping out his opponent instead of rushing in headfirst. Rushing in was more of an Omi kind of thing to do.

Raimundo was a pretty slim guy with dark hair from Brazil, he definitely had the advantage of reach over his opponent and he didn’t think he needed his wind elemental attacks. He was going to rush her, but he felt something was entirely disconcerting about her evil little smirk and that she was leaving herself wide open. There was something he was not obviously seeing here and it screamed like an alarm in his head.

Bonnie waited patiently for Rai to make the first move; she wondered if she had misjudged his character as being exactly like his element of the wind. She obviously thought it was a fact that he was obviously flighty and that he was a guy who was likely great at breaking a lot of wind. So far he was pretty intelligent about not immediately coming at her, but how long would his patience hold out with it nearly being lunchtime?

On his side of things Raimundo just stared blankly at Bonnie and he was trying to perceive just how dangerous she was in comparison to all the other foes they have faced. After a moment he could see a silhouette of a bean with two tentacles appear next to Bonnie and his eyes widened. He noted that Bonnie wasn’t that threat level if he tried to take back the Shen Gong Wu from her friend by force; she was that threat level if he touched her friend at all by the way she projected herself. She was clearly ready to start toying with him and he did something he’d thought he never would do in this situation.

“I would like to immediately concede the one on one thing and that she is powerful enough to protect the Lunar Locket from at least one of our enemies and possibly more by herself.” He had backed down; Raimundo Pedrosa had actually backed down from a fight after talking tough and sent up a large red flag to his friends who were now staring at him in shock. He knew now that Bonnie was prepared to punish anyone harshly if they so much as touched the innocent horse like creature wearing a suit made of vegetables.

“What’s wrong Rai, why are you backing down?” Kimiko was a little surprised to see him not immediately jump into the fight and even more so to declare that Bonnie would be the winner.

“Yes Raimundo, why are you being a cautious cat?” After a moment of waiting for someone to correct him, Omi the little slightly yellow skinned monk was surprised when no one corrected him. This meant that he had finally managed a saying accurately enough that nobody was going to say anything about it! He had to smile at this news.

“Omi, that’s actually a very accurate assessment of why I’m backing down as caution is definitely required here. After all the times of getting kicked around or spent kicking others around, I think my pride can actually handle a pass on this one while I still have it.” It was perhaps one of the more mature things Raimundo would ever state in his life. He could see the grey between good and evil, an example would be the wannabe evildoers like Jack Spicer himself. He could sense that Bonnie was grey in a way that she was by far the most dangerous being in the area if aggravated. “If you two want to try her go ahead, I’m just getting some really bad feelings from her and I’m not about to let her toy around with me. In fact I’m sitting off to the side now.”

“Well you’re no fun!” Bonnie stated blithely as Raimundo sat down, he noticeably did so far enough away from Fluttershy as to not earn her ire.

“I think it’s nice that no one is getting hurt.” Positive emotions were good and all but Fluttershy actually wanted to get tired of being only capable of getting happy all the time. Goodness knows Pinkie Pie tries to keep up the appearance of being in such a state while hiding her real feelings since she didn’t like upsetting others. Rarity hides her real feelings by overdramatizing things to hide other minor emotional cues. Applejack just didn’t show emotions that she didn’t want anyone seeing. Rainbow Dash and Twilight were rather upfront about how they felt emotionally. Thinking about this made Fluttershy miss the ability to be depressed, emotions like that lets others know that you needed a hug and some help.

“If you’re going to fight her, might I suggest you use the Wu that you have on you?” After he said that Raimundo saw the Orb of Tornami come rolling up to hit his foot, the crystal ball in question could spew a floods worth of water. He looked at Bonnie who smirked at him. He hadn’t seen her get within five feet of Omi and she had already disarmed him of his favored Wu, she had just affirmed that he made the right decision in not getting his ass handed to him.

In an eerie manner, Bonnie mouthed only two words to the human with the elemental powers of the wind sitting on the ground. Those words were, ‘he blinked’.

Fluttershy, Cobra and Shush were the only ones that hadn’t blinked or looked away from her for longer than half a second. To both Cobra and Shush, Bonnie’s two specialties of ‘theft’ and ‘evasion’ hadn’t seemed that scary until just now.

-

Omi immediately charged Bonnie only for her to flicker out of existence the moment his attack would have landed causing him to plant his face into the ground. He got angry to start looking all over the place as Bonnie reappeared right next to Kimiko.

“So who’s he looking for?” Bonnie asked snidely as if she didn’t know.

“He’s looking for…” Kimiko stopped and turned to Bonnie and jumped away while clutching protectively at her Wu, having seen Bonnie had somehow already managed to disarm Omi. She didn’t blink as she leapt away and kept a tight hold of the Star Hanabi, a Shen Gong Wu that shot blasts of fire. It made sense that she was the one that used it the most, as she was the dragon of fire. “Where in the world did you come from?”

“My father, space, multiple genetic donors and…” Bonnie blurred slightly as Omi launched what was called a Tsunami Strike at her side and completely whiffed entirely and slammed straight into a tree. A huge splash of water from that attack hit Kimiko and some of the audience, but Bonnie was completely dry by the time it had all settled down and standing in the exact same spot she had been when she was attacked. “The final thing was a mad scientist’s lab for creating crazy beings like me. I was born adorable by the way, so thank you asking.”

“You will not be able to evade me fo…!” Omi screamed and crawled up the tree he had just slammed into and was pointing in fear at the squirrel sitting next to Foxglove.

“You know, I almost forgot Omi was completely terrified of squirrels.” Kimiko knew that Omi has had bad experiences with the rodents once. Even if they had the Wu that allows the user to communicate with animals with them, they still wouldn’t have been able to convince Omi that the squirrel wasn’t out to get him.

The humans could already understand Foxglove because she had magic that allowed her the ability of speech; otherwise humans had problems understanding any animal mostly because either the animal wasn’t willing to speak a recognizable language or because they couldn’t do so without the aid of magic. Dogs and cats could speak human, but they tended to hide the ability except in extremely rare circumstances. It was how cartoons like a peculiar one called Scooby Doo got started on earth, someone thought they imagined a dog talking and ran with it. It was with a bit of irony that Rufus the naked mole rat learned his form of elocution from that cartoon.

“Wow, some warriors you’re turning out to be. Also why did he climb up into the tree, doesn’t he know that trees are where squirrels live?” After a moment Bonnie smirked viciously as Omi came flying out of the tree and latched on to a stoic head of the elemental dragon warrior of earth, all while screaming in fear that he was now afraid of trees as well.

“Do not let them have me, they are vicious demons!” Omi wailed into Clay’s hat that reminded Fluttershy of Applejack in a rather fond and upbeat manner.

Tammy just sat there with a completely flat look on her face; she turned to Foxglove who just shrugged blankly at her. Yeah, that little monk was just sad in some ways despite the impressive tornado of water he created seconds ago. Tammy had learned to accept that magic and aliens existed and were sparingly seen because they kept to themselves more often than not.

“Those two are idiots, but they’re my idiots.” Kimiko stated sadly to Bonnie when Omi realized he was much closer to the squirrel he had saw earlier and continued to freak out.

“I don’t know about that, that Raimundo guy actually has a good head on his shoulders.” It was an honest opinion since Bonnie knew that he knew what would happen if he had actually went through with an attack on her.

“Right back to fight as this isn’t over yet, Star Hanabi fire!” A large blast of fire shot out of the red gem on the star shaped magical object Kimiko had pointed at Bonnie.

For Bonnie time slowed down as she dodge out of the way of the fireball and looked to where it would end up, unfortunately for her she couldn’t evade back into the path of the fireball as it was heading straight for Fluttershy. While the other panicked and leapt away, Fluttershy didn’t show fear or react like everyone else did for being stuck in the path of a fireball. She did however blankly put herself more into the path of the fireball in an attempt to shield little Soft Echo by turning her body to take the brunt of the attack.

This led to a number of things that only Bonnie was privy to witnessing as it happened in slow motion to her. Her sister Shush was either stupid or didn’t want to hurt anyone so she didn’t bother using her sonic attack to blast the fireball out of existence, which explained her running. Omi was too frightened of the squirrel that was quickly darting away from the likely impact zone to conjure some water or pay attention to his surroundings. Clay was in mid motion to moving towards Fluttershy but wouldn’t reach in time. Raimundo was in the middle of a back flip taking him far out of what he might consider the blast range in his egress. Mr. Bubbles was also slowly going for Fluttershy. Foxglove had taken to the air at speeds a normal bat wouldn’t have been capable of moving at. As for why Roller didn’t do anything his tire spun out in the mud that Omi’s earlier water attack had created.

Even if she couldn’t feel fear Fluttershy was still trying to save the weird magical baby she had recently gotten. Sure the Rhizome suit didn’t easily catch fire, but in this case it might do so in a horrific manner. They, being Bonnie and her, really needed to have a talk about that little kink in their travel plans after the rest of the pony’s ability to fully feel things came back. Provided the fireball didn’t hurt Fluttershy too much or they were delayed from leaving New York when they finally figured out how they were going to do so to reach Beach City in the Delmarva Peninsula two hundred or so miles away.

The fireball struck Fluttershy’s side and coalesced against her form for a moment before the gathered rolling flames seem to just bounce off of her and started flying straight back towards Bonnie and Kimiko. The fireball was noticeably smaller than it had been, as it flew back the way it came at a much slower speed.

Of the only witness to seeing the Lunar Locket glow before the fireball struck Fluttershy, Bonnie wasn’t surprised to find herself dodging around the fireball as she considered what had just happened. Her second dodge put her directly in front of a relieved looking Fluttershy, she didn’t care much for anything else happening after that. She was more intrigued by what the Lunar Locket just did and she tried to clue in to the reason as to why it had.

Her mind quickly started running over the scenario and then it was compared to what she had learned about earth’s moon after the adventure her brother Launch had on it. Bonnie thought it made sense in context if the locket gave you the powers of the moon. Fluttershy had absorbed a little more than eighty percent of the energy from the attack and then some of the energy absorbed used itself up to launch the remaining energy back to sender. The overall effect of being immune to energy based attacks was worth more than the weaker reflection ability. That’s not even counting the implications that she suspected the locket gives you control over gravity, as how else would one move the moon using it? People must not have really used it often enough if they didn’t know what it could do that, judging entirely by the vague descriptions they continually received about what it could do.

“Well, give up yet?” Bonnie decided to play off the fact that she had seen something the others likely hadn’t in the confusion after Kimiko took her own fireball to the chest, it didn’t do a lot of damage given the large reduction in the power behind it. She decided to keep the abilities of the locket to herself.

“Okay, when you can start throwing my fireballs back at me, I think you can protect the locket.” The sheepish looking raven haired girl didn’t know how Bonnie had managed to deflect the fireball back at her; at this point Kimiko thought Raimundo had the right idea. “Sorry about nearly frying you guys, the Lunar Locket is officially safe in my book.”

“Is anybody open to the idea of lunch?” It was a good suggestion; at least Fluttershy could still feel her stomach and she was glad everything had turned out alright.

Author's Note:

Kind of blind fired this chapter, if there is an error I'll fix it.

And now for a road trip... how ever will they reach the Crystal Gems? Fluttershy would certainly refuse a ride on big Dojo to Hawaii even if she doesn't currently have the wherewithal to fear him or Jake. She has a stigma against dragons considering the previous history she's had with them.

Lunar Locket- Controls the moon and grants immunity to energy based attacks via absorption and reflection. Suspected of granting gravity controlling powers outside of controlling the moon.
