Fluttershy has heard of a continental breakfast, she’s heard of an intercontinental breakfast, but never in her history has she ever heard of a galactic breakfast. Star Command apparently fed their rangers well considering all the different dietary needs of the many species that were a part of it.

Booster was lying on his back with the tray sitting on his belly with his hands behind his head looking at Fluttershy. She had asked for food and he was happy to deliver until Mira was ready to let go, the sad thing of the situation is that Mira was going to be asleep for another half hour at least.

It was almost impossible to find something onboard that wasn’t edible to someone. The pony was currently enjoying what were basically pancakes and maple syrup at the moment; because they were in fact pancakes and syrup with a bit of alien butter on it. There was food here that wasn’t alien in appearance or taste and it made breakfast in bed enjoyable.

Fluttershy started into her scrambled eggs, she made sure that they were unfertilized and were of the protein giving variety of eggs. It tasted the same as the pancakes, completely like what it was supposed to. It was the novelty in and of itself that surprised Fluttershy when she asked for something to eat.

Her enjoyment of the food ended when she got to the last item on the tray, it was a grilled cheese sandwich but the cheese was an odd solid blue color and she just looked at it. She hoped that Booster took her seriously when she told him that she was primarily vegan with few exceptions. She sniffed the sandwich carefully and then took a nibble of it. It had a salty flavor to it; salt was just as addictive to a pony as sugar was and Fluttershy started eating it without worry. Alien food hasn’t killed her yet and she trusted Mira’s friend.

“So… who are you going to meet with to start a treaty with the hopes of brokering peace between the Galactic Alliance and your race?” Booster was asking it in a sweet tone as he took up the tray and utensils to set them down off to the side, he stood up and continued to pay attention to Fluttershy.

“Um… I can choose who to meet with? I really don’t know what being an ambassador entails; all I know is that I’m supposed to be a representative of my planet.” Fluttershy felt Mira clutch her slightly and stir, the blue humanoid alien was slowly waking up and then she’d be free of the comforting cuddly position she was in.

“What, no one told you? Oh, it will be my duty to explain then! We’re currently hanging over the planet called Capital Planet where all galactic laws and the center of all our combined governments come to discuss things; hence it’s the capital of the alliance.” Booster paused and went to a nearby computer screen and turned it on, after a moment he had a view of both Capital Planet and Star Command on screen. “As you know we’re here on Star Command, Space Ranger central where my dreams came true and I’m protecting the peace for every being that would be willing fight for it. Anyway, there are many people you can meet to write up a treaty for when we run into more of your race and we’ve had a ton of first contacts with many species and people in the universe. You can either meet up with the Galactic Alliance President or the Grand Councilwoman both of them have consular duties when it comes to first contacts and you can choose to meet either one or both of them. Even if Madam President yells a lot and the Grand Councilwoman is a bit cold at times, they both are actually rather friendly and I bet they’d both be happy to meet you.”

On the screen provided there was a stocky short testy alien with two big mouths that looked to have a naturally occurring white hair that looked like a powered wig, her two eyes seem to hold a fierce demeanor in them. The other one was a much taller and serene looking alien wearing regal clothing with long slender fingers and large legs clawed ending it what looked like cloven hooves and a cold stare that could freeze a star. They were both bizarre in appearance and Fluttershy didn’t know which one was less intimidating.

“Um, if you don’t mind me asking, is there anything else I should know about being an ambassador or those two I am to meet?” At least Fluttershy was trying to take in the image of the two beings and commit them to memory. They were both incredibly alien looking to her, if she wanted to make a good impression she had better see both of them up close and talk with them. Being who she was, Fluttershy was understandably extremely nervous about those meetings. “By the way, I think I want to meet the both of them.”

“Well, I know the Galactic President better than I do the Grand Councilwoman, but I’ll try my best to tell you what I know. The Galactic President is the one who calls most of the shots in the Galactic Alliance and is a great no nonsense political leader, she once even won an election by screaming her opponent it quitting. Even if she’s a bit harsh and critical she really has everyone’s best interests at heart and I have been on several missions to protect her. She helps Star Command stay funded and backs the good work we Space Rangers do.” Boosters flipped from the picture of the two mouthed teal skinned lady, to the tall grey woman of a regal figure. “The Grand Councilwoman is in charge of the Galactic Armada and making sure a full blown war doesn’t break out, she’ll always consider her first meeting with anyone neutrally. The armada is there to prevent anyone from declaring war on anyone else. Unfortunately they can’t put a stop to the likes of someone like Zurg in part because of politics getting in the way. The armada is only meant for defensive purposes and cannot be used to launch an assault on any other nation no matter how bad they are to their own people without a signed agreement from the Galactic President and the Grand Councilwoman, plus a majority of the Galactic Council. They all have to be tested for coercion in any form, plus they all have to be of sound mental health when signing an assault order. In the case of defense, it’s a non issue as defending oneself is everyone’s right in the Galactic Alliance. Though there are limitations on the types of weapons you can legally carry or use, you have the right to be armed for self defense and the defense of others as long as you are not a minor and if you are then you need a license for use of said weapon. This means that some people do carry lethal weapons; they are usually an adult and are carrying legal firearms or personal defensive measures.”

“Thank you Mr. Munchapper, that was… really informative.” Fluttershy was shivering in fright, so many people and if she offended even one of them then they’d shoot at her? She had a weapon on board Head Hunter and she wondered if it was legal or not. “Um… is Rhizome weaponry legal? Also, I have a weapon I need you to check out back on… my ship. I just want to make sure if it’s illegal or not that I have it, I don’t want to be breaking any rules or laws.”

“No problem Ms. Shy, I’ve read the Space Ranger handbook front to back and I’ve memorized all laws of the Galactic Alliance. Rhizome weaponry is considered mostly non lethal so as long as your adult it’s completely legal for you to use and own said weaponry. Just as long as you’re willing to follow Galactic Alliance laws as long as you’re here. We can go to check out the other weapon you have to see whether or not if it’s legal. If it’s legal, then it’ll be returned to you immediately without any trouble. If not, then we will have to detain it and possibly destroy it depending on its threat level.” Booster frowned as he held a hand up to his large chin. “I find it hard to believe anything you’d have would be considered a weapon of mass destruction, you’re too nice for that. Just call me Booster.”

“Thank you for getting food for me… um Booster… how exactly do I pay for it?” It hadn’t occurred to Fluttershy until now, but for the longest time she hadn’t any need of currency until this moment. All the other places she’s been to or visited freely gave her food and a room without need of asking anything of her, but this place made her feel like she was freeloading.

“Don’t worry about it Fluttershy, your getting a stipend of galactic currency for food and any place that houses you without ill intent will count as a temporary embassy.” Finally releasing the poor pony, Mira sat up and stretched out her arms. After her stretch she found herself being squashed into a dangerous hug from Booster that made it hard to breathe. “It’s good to see you too Booster, now please stop killing me...”

“Sorry Mira, you know you gave us quite a scare when you fell into that wormhole. Buzz might have had a heart attack if he wasn’t so sure you had survived, he definitely had one when he learned you were kicking hornets around while injured!” After saying that Booster released Mira and watched on as Fluttershy mewled in protest at having her belly rubbed until she was completely relaxed.

“Adorable isn’t she?” Mira smiled as Fluttershy lazily kicked her hooves at the air on her back and tried to wiggle out from under Mira’s petting.

“Cutest race I’ve ever seen, though the mismatched wings make me feel sad for some reason.” Having an affinity for cute and adorable things, Booster had learned his lesson long ago to not underestimate anything like Fluttershy. That she was friendly and cuddly enough for Mira to sleep with made Booster happy in two ways, his longtime friend was okay and his new friend was as innocent as she looked.

-

Meanwhile outside Mira’s room, a team of ten diminutive purple horned people in military uniforms were standing on each other’s shoulders while the one at the top was hacking the door to the room. Once the door was open they’d strike swiftly and ferociously at the protectors within and then they’d make sure that the ambassador took a dirt nap and never woke up.

So far the assassins known as the Militant Gargantian’s have managed to subvert the security of Star Command from the hangar to their current location. They had so far capture and tied up some top level Star Command elites and trainee’s, the total number of people these small soldiers took out was twenty seven in the last hour they’ve been onboard. They eventually managed to find out the location of the ambassador and they had gotten this far without a single injury to themselves, they definitely used their size to their advantage being about as tall as an average action figure.

They were almost to the mission target, they were of a military mindset so they were only focused on the objective and anything would have been secondary to that objective. Had they bothered to sabotage Star Command so that it blew up and or fell out of orbit, it would have been easier then charging into this room.

-

The door to Mira’s room open and the ten Gargantian’s yelled out a war cry as they charged in; booster was the only one who was currently armed and he was quite literally the biggest threat in the room . Mira was next in the line of threatening as she was about to spring up to defend Fluttershy from the tiny attackers that could take down titanic foes with great efficiency.

They were the few, they were the proud… they were quickly ran over by Roller as he shot into the room and leapt onto the bed and ducked behind Fluttershy for safety. By accident he had mangled nine of the ten perfectly healthy little aliens, he was certainly afraid of something and something had him spooked. It definitely wasn’t the Gargantian’s though as he paid them no attention as he ran over them.

“My brothers… you will pay for that! For Gar…” A red beam struck him and he went down after being blasted into the wall. Booster just held up his right arm with his left hand poised over his wrist and enclosed fist, he kept it pointed at the only tiny being in the room to not be mangled by the strange creature who just ended up cowering next to Fluttershy. Booster would never say he felt a sense of satisfaction from shooting the Gargantian given the look Fluttershy gave him afterwards.

Fluttershy cowered while holding onto Roller while looking at Booster horrified. Seeing as Mira was not reacting with any hostile intent towards the wheel being cuddled by Fluttershy, it was obvious that he was not a hostile. Booster sighed and lowered his arm; he didn’t want Fluttershy to be afraid of him.

“Don’t worry I just stunned him Fluttershy… he’s most likely to be the least injured Gargantian here anyway.” It would be hours later that Booster was proven right; the Gargantian’s that hadn’t seen Mr. Wheel coming were said to be crippled in the medical files that Fluttershy would never be witness to. They would continue on to live relatively peaceful lives and one of them would even save the universe, but that was a different story entirely.

Roller had simply spotted Fluttershy and turned into the room at high speeds to end up hitting the aggressive little aliens caught flatfooted by his speedy entrance. He did it without noticing that he did anything wrong in his haste to find Fluttershy.

“… Okay… um… can you please get someone to help them, I’m not sure how to treat a… what did you say they were, gargantuan?” Fluttershy mumbled as she stared at the poor little broken bodies of the purple men who were wielding what looked like little knives and blades coated with what looked to be poison. They were also armed with miniature grappling hooks that were all destroyed and parts of them were sticking out of a few of the bodies Roller had incidentally wounded. “Mr. Wheel what’s wrong?”

Roller revved as to the reason of his distress, as he cuddled into her hooves. Apparently he had done something that the beings here didn’t like and they all shot beams at him that really stung quite a bit.

“Alright you stupid robot, freeze and don’t make any sudden moves!” A bunch of Space Rangers burst into the room point their arms at them. It wasn’t long before most of the Gargantian’s were handed over to the primary medical station onboard Star Command, the situation Roller had caused was settled as he had gotten hungry and invaded the cafeteria and started eating other peoples food.

Fluttershy sighed as this was another thing she had to deal with; Roller was her responsibility after all. She would have to explain to them that Roller was not a robot, but an adaptable biological creature that grew to look like it did and was a living and breathing being. She wasn’t entirely sure about his need to breathe though, given he didn’t need an atmosphere to survive and his race could be quite capable of traversing space to reach other planets naturally.

Things settled down for the most part, in other ways things hadn’t settled down at all as the Star Command went into high alert. The Gargantian’s hadn’t sabotaged anything other than the scanners to the hangar and a few doors, had they used the vents they might have actually succeeded in getting Fluttershy. The reason it went on high alert was because there was an attempt on Fluttershy, why else would the Gargantian’s specifically target the room she was in? This meant that someone knew that she was a first contact ambassador and wanted her dead; the likeliest culprit behind the attack was Evil Emperor Zurg.

It wasn’t hard to figure out when Emperor Zurg was behind a good sixty percent of all the crimes being committed in the Galactic Alliance. It especially wasn’t hard with Crumford Lorak singing like a stool pigeon that Zurg set up a reward for Fluttershy to be brought in dead. While he might not be able to move on Fluttershy personally with his heavily reduced hornet army, Zurg was still able to contact quite a few assassins and didn’t care who knew he did. He would have likely hired them for the job anyway given he hated friendly and nice creatures like Fluttershy with a passion rivaling Rainbow Dash’s love of apple cider, he hated her much more because she was a likely advocate for peace between her race and the Galactic Alliance.

-

“Well that happened. I swear those little guys are always annoying to deal with, so Mira… did you bring me anything from Rhizome? After what happened last time, I hope you didn’t. We don’t need another incident where I get blown up, that happens enough already as it is! Not mention that kid stole my arm and it took us forever to get it back.” XR the Experimental Ranger or more commonly known as the Expendable Ranger, asked of his chum Mira Nova. This was his first introduction to Fluttershy and he was not making a good example of the friend he truly was, he was a somewhat quirky robot who was built to be Buzz Lightyear’s good friend by the little green men. After his first destruction they successfully somehow implanted him with a soul while stowing junk into his spatially enlarge chest compartment. “Hey now, who’s this little cutie! She looks like sweet little thing, I hope this is not another pet situation Booster. I thought we’ve learned our lesson about trying to keep pets after what happened with that yukari.”

“Please XR, not now. I just woke up to Gargantian’s, Roller and a gaggle of Space Rangers invading my room and I currently don’t feel like dealing with any of your antics at the moment.” Groaning out in agony of the paperwork she now had to do; Mira diligently went to work on the papers sitting before her. Nobody liked paperwork, nobody except for the zanier bureaucrats possibly. “Fox your team has been authorized to be near Fluttershy at all times, after that attack we’re not taking any chances and because Fluttershy is actually vouching for you. XR, Booster, you are to stick with Fluttershy at all times except for the bathroom.”

Fluttershy stood off to the side staring at XR’s floating head inside the glass dome. Beneath dome was his short cylindrical body that had arms ending in three fingered hands and two legs ending in treads instead of feet. He had Star Command’s symbol on his chest and he didn’t seem likely to attack her. She could even see his mischievous spirit when she looked him in his calculating expressive eyes, Discord would probably like him if they were spend any time in the same room as he looked rather lively for a being made out of metal. She wasn’t about to go anywhere near him though and the Rhizome suit she had put on clutched protectively at her body when she started getting overly nervous, it still had a working pod grenade generator.

“Take a picture it’ll last longer sugar butt, say Booster do you think we can get a trip to Mahambas six again after this? I don’t care what happened last time, that place was nice.” Well XR certainly didn’t mind that he might have gotten a hit order on Booster; it felt kind of similar to the one that they had all just learned was on ambassador Fluttershy here. The robot was cocky and quite sure that they’d be able to handle another hit men order. “Aside from that I’m feeling up for a meeting with dear old dad, haven’t seen him since I arrived and he’s currently in a discussion with Buzz. We had a heck of a time on Karn, but we managed okay without Mira pulling our fat out of the fire.”

“Robots can have parents?” Fluttershy remarked in a clueless manner.

“Yep, Commander Nebula is my pops. He signed the work order for me and the Little Green Men made sure I was born… though it kind of required the Galactic Alliance nearly ending before I came into my personality. The guy I was before was a stiff stick in the mud yes man!” The robot crossed his arms defensively as angrily muttered out how the LGM’s thought he was good idea before his character flaws became a feature. “The last time we had a first contact problem was with the Valkyrans and that went about as well as expected considering they were hostile and it has been a while since they stole cargo in Galactic Alliance space.”

“Well that sounds nice, not the part about the stealing or people getting hurt, the part about your father giving you a chance at life.” This robot had a soul, which was all Fluttershy had focus on. It wasn’t going to kill her the moment she turned her back on it.

“There’s just something I like about you sister!” XR said as he put his arm around Fluttershy’s withers and gave her a loose hug. “You don’t mind if I call you sister right?”

Fluttershy didn’t like the invasion of her personal space, but she thought could live with it and the guilt she still had with what happened back on Rhizome.

“XR you’re spooking Fluttershy, let her go. She’s had some really bad times with robots… the less than pleasant kind of robots that don’t have a twisted personality like you.” Mira stood their tapping her foot against the ground; she couldn’t wait to get her armor back from being repaired. She glared at XR and he swiftly let go of Fluttershy who had been looking at her pleadingly.

“Come on Fluttershy let’s go have a look at your weapon, you said it was on your ship right?” Booster waved his arm and the group of three started off for the hangar.

Fox and his team stood by silently watching for a moment and then followed along without a word. They were silent because Fluttershy had nearly been attacked with lethal intent while on their watch; at least they hadn’t been able to poison her or anyone else and they were caught before it was too late.

Author's Note:

The threat level of the Gargantian's dropped dramatically, because they were tired and because they went for the direct approach and were blindsided. Despite being small and fast, if hit by something faster they go down easily.

Now for more from the LGM's and maybe introduce Fluttershy to Buzz and the Grand Councilwoman from Lilo and Stitch. What could possibly go equal?
