Sylpheed Dashstep

It is writing again

T

Tanith is a regular, everyday earth pony with no uncommon abilities or traits, discounting his name. His life was normal, or as normal as it can get when one lives in Ponyville, until one day he found a figure tailing him. Said figure turned out to be a time traveller. Shenanigans ensue.

Made during the time I should have been reading. KoH, if you ever read this, this is the reason me and Eli never caught up on your story.

eh I mean it's okay, it's a good story, but it's kinda just, "well here we are. Oh bother it's the Doctor. Oh bother hooves. Oh bother we're travelling in spacetime. Ah well let's just get this thing started so it will end"
Just reads a little flat, you know? Readers like a dynamic scene.
Exhibit A: my Doctor Whooves story. 257 likes can't be wrong, can they? :trollestia:
Also, in my personal taste, I don't really like it when people change plot elements like the Doctor's species or Gallopfrey and all that. I mean it's okay if you want to do the alternate universe kinda thing, but then there's the reason why th e Doctor looks like a pony. More often than not, the reason is just because poni. Or the Doctor was just always like that. And for some reason that doesn't sit well with me: if people want to read about the Doctor, give them the bucking Doctor! Not a cheap cop-out.
No offense to your story in particular, just in general. Know what I mean? :trollestia:
In my Doctor Whooves fic, I got around this little problem by way of something people tend to skip over, the chameleon circuit! Because if the chameleon ciruit can cloak the most highly advanced piece of Gallifreyan technology, mayhaps it can cloak a Gallifreyan? :trollestia:

I want to start my reply first off by thanking you for actually explaining your down vote and will next explain the reason for the way my Doctor is. I will say that this is an entirely separate universe in which the Gallifreyan's are a race of equines (and I understand that some don't like that but that's how it will be for this story as, having the Doctor being from the universe with Earth and having him had past adventures would throw in elements that I would rather not tinker with, and what I'm stating here will make more sense if I get to season two), and I threw in 'Gallopfrey' as a little pun, but I suppose it fell flat.

And as for the whole 'How do hoof' thing, it was going to be explained later on in the story but I suppose there's no harm in tossing it out right now. As a cop-out (yes, I'll admit it's a cop-out) to the whole 'hooves can't grab/hold objects' problem, I simply made it so that Equestrians have a force at the end of their hooves that allows them to handle objects, while the Gallifrey race didn't acquire such traits, creating machines to allow them to hold objects using thought processes. It's a cheesy concept, and I'll admit I stole the Equestrian portion from My Little GLaDOS, but it was a loophole to get past problems later on in the story.

4807771 I suppose I can deal with that, and you're not the first one to come up with Gallopfrey, it's a perfectly flat pun :trollestia:
I suppose, then, ghat I will watch this story and see what comes out of it! I hope it becomes as popular as mine :trollestia: sorry not sorry

I know that I'm not the first one to come up with Gallopfrey and now I'm trying to think of who I ripped it off of :rainbowlaugh: and I highly doubt this will get popular, as one of the few stories I've written that I'm actually proud of (link here) barely even got noticed.

Mmmehhhhh I mean it's a nice storyyy, but it doesn't really read like a Doctor Whooves story. The Doctor himself isn't even present for over half of this chapter, and when he iS there, he doesnt, you know, aCt like the Doctor.
And with all the characters I've never heard of, it just feels like, "my OC story, and also the Doctor".
If people like and favorite because it's a Doctor Whooves story, ghen, I dunno, emphasizs his role?
Also, I think you would benefit from studying how the Doctor acts more closely :trollestia:

Well there is a reason that the Doctor isn't acting like himself, accompanied with the emphasis on the lack of colour. A lot of this stuff will be explained later, and as for the lack of the Doctor, that also plays a part in a later chapter, so *shrugs* I know that a lot of this is just the placing of various OC's and stuff, but for the most part they will be back at one point in another so it's not like they're just thrown there to fill a hole. And I can promise now that the Doctor will be a prominent feature in future chapters and he will become like the actual Doctor in a few chapters. As for the reason why he's not like the actual Doctor, I'll simply point you to the Season two premier of MLP and let you draw what you want from it. It will be explained in a future portion though as I said so you don't have to.

And I realize most of my responses are coming off like, "Don't question it because story elements," but to be perfectly honest I have quite a bit planned and most of the things you're pointing out are there for a reason. Sorry if I'm sounding a bit pretentious to you.

4818969 duly noted! I'll keep an eye out for it :trollestia:
*slams mug on table* mORe chapters!

Well the man demands more, so he shall get more (most likely because no one has downvoted since the story was submitted)
