Discord has most of the world in his thrall: Equestria is overrun, the elements of harmony missing. Amidst the Chaos The crystal Empire is about to see a new ruler emerge. Prince Sombra will have to attend his dying fathers wish, to find a new way to protect the Crystal Empire from the threat of dissolving into chaos.
Can he do it? And if so, how far will he go to protect that which he loves?

Its best to say that the search had wielded no results and don't mention the name as a certainty. In any case they wouldn't know what something is if they discovered it. We don't say "I discovered my lost book" we say "I discovered America."

I might point out one thing - though your poem was fine, the rhyming scheme was off in the first part.
Your rhyme goes:
AA
BB
AB
AB
Meaning line 1 rhymes within itself, line 2 rhymes within itself, and then lines 3 and 4 rhyme together. All the other lines in your poem then follow lines 3 and 4 - rhyming each other line.
Anyway, hopefully that helped - keep up the writing. It's good so far.

Anyways, the reasoning for that is an artistic choice, I love doing an AA/BB/CD/CD type format. I never formally studied poetry, but it was my area of focus in both high school and the year of Communit College English 101 I did.
As for the reasoning behind it, I just like the way it sounds. I wish I did have a bit of a more formal study in poetry, but I never fancied myself a writer either

I just pointed it out in case that wasn't your intention.
Also, like all things, you get better with practice. The poem wasn't bad, per se. Don't be so quick to fall on the sword of "I'm not very good". Have confidence - the more you write, and the more you talk to people about writing, the better you'll get.

I know pretty much what I wanna say, and how I wanna say it, but I will definetly do more projects in the futures. I suggest you read The Storms of War, my other story, as I can see it taking much longer to do. If you want more sombra, well, I plan on doing those two more chapters. IF I can get permission from a certain someone, I plan on putting a special something in here :3
