This is nice, but it feels unfinished.
4741643 It was originally done as a response to a prompt in Equestria Daily's Writers Training Ground. The story mostly takes place through the events of "Rarity Takes Manehattan."
In terms of finished... I always took it that Rarity would go back through the events of the episode (rushing out of the hotel when the dresses are finished, etc.) and Spike would continue to be thankful in the background.

It wasn't the best stopping point, but if you change 'Romance' to 'Slice of Life', it would feel more finished.
Basically it felt unfinished because there was barely any romantic interaction. It was more of a speil between friends.

4743321 Fair enough. It was my first foray at the writing prompts so I sort of eased into it. This is a special case where I wrote the story inside of the episode, rather than after it.

Awww, friendzoned. Also, why does everyone assume Spike is so young? Twilight hatched him when she was really young. So Spike is likely at least in his mid-teens, heck he could even be 18.

4745102 In the context of the show, Twilight always calls him a "baby" dragon. Which he is, considering dragons live for thousands of years and he's only at best in his teen years.
In terms of how I write Spike, I like saying "young dragon" because it makes Spike sound a little bit more mature than a toddler that needs to be taken care of. On his relationship with Rarity... that's a whole different story.
