A few years after Twilight and Celestia's marriage, they begin to worry that their obligations to the job are interfering with their obligations to each other. So they decide to take a break. A few spells and perfectly legal papers later, and they are ready to start their lives as Sunny Skies and Dusky Sparks, just your average, everyday, married couple living and working in a suburb of Manehatten.

Hmm, exploring the domestic ramifications behind the loss of telekinesis.
Doesn't quite seem fair to Sunny; Twilight always was and still is a unicorn, so magic is innate, but her wings were later additions, and so perhaps secondary.
Celestia, on the other hoof, might have started out as not a unicorn. (There is a precedent in Cadance, a pegasus... if you believe non-show sources.)
Though one might assume unicorns have the high magic power useful for ascension...

Not really. It assumes they are all adults at this time, potentially with husbands and children of their own. I originally had a line with regards to taking vacations to visit friends and family, but I guess that got cut. Either way, they wouldn't be wholly out of contact. I think it's kinda odd to assume that they would all remain living in Ponyville for the rest of their lives. RD joining the Wonderbolts, Rarity moving to a larger city for her fashion career, Twilight moving back to Canterlot when they get married (this was started pre-Twilight's Kingdom).

Or at least that's my take on it... plus I have no issue canonizing most of the comics and EqG. Even Sombra could fit in before Twilight and Celestia's relationship started.

No you're pretty new. Sunny Skies has been the name of Celestia going 'incognito' and posing as a mortal for years. Ever since Season One. So, either your supposed girlfriend had the same idea, or she's using the name that the fandom's been using since 2011, for herself. Which would make 'her' the 'thief', not that any of us give a damn.
For your sake, I hope you were trying to make a joke. As a man of several decades who has been in and out of a number of relationships, your post's very existence seems to belie a certain amount of immaturity reserved for those who are likely under the average dating age.
