I absolutely love how you referenced Diamond's killing spree and Vinyl's tragic death, and the effects they had. The moment you mentioned the musical instruments, I said "Wait a minute...". And then my suspicions were confirmed. Now I wonder if one of these side stories will be about Neon's downward spiral. That would be interesting to see. Keep up the awesome work Samey; I'm loving everything about this story and its extremely dark universe.

"Cutie Mark Crusaders" may count as one, though they don't use it very often. The mafia boss calls them "filly scouts", but he calls everyone who delivers drugs for him that. In fact, I've never really thought about that...

Actually, when I put that reference there, "Thirsty" wasn't finished; that's why no one refers to the fact that there's an eldritch abomination right below Canterlot. Though I guess an average pony in Equestria remembers "there was a pony who killed some folks in Canterlot and drank their blood" better than "that doctor wrote that we shouldn't dig under Canterlot, or something invisible will eat us".
A propos "Thirsty", I've noticed that there's a difference between Lovecraftian stories set on Earth and in Equestria. The common motif of many of them are people who doesn't believe in the monsters from outer space. In Equestria, with its changelings, Sombra, Discord, Nightmare Moon, and Angel bunny, one has to be a Flat Earth Atheist to not believe in eldritch abominations...
