With these word choices, and Shining's focus on his family, I thought we were going to be leading to something bigger concerning his character, like maybe he's always harbored feelings of impotence and resentment. He became royalty by marrying into it, and even in the show, it seems like it's only Cadence who gets the special treatment. She gets a throne, a crown, regalia, alicornhood (immortality?), and access to meetings where the fate of Equestria is decided. And then his SISTER gets all of that! Apparently, she was just more worthy! Of course! Just look at all of those dangerous missions that she went on and got got lauded for, instead of someone from the actual military getting assigned to protect Equestria!

I'm curious to see how Spike gets to be in possession of Twilight, based off a few things I've read or my own thought on how he becomes her owner, including this with her breaking from a black/whatever to red, even if she's gotten off to some of the sex stuff in Twilight Falls. So she's kinda giving in, but not fully there yet.
Anyway, not a bad little story even if not sure how 'accurate' some of this is with Twily training other female ponies/whatever to be slaves, if they're already willing or mostly not. And the taking by her brother, as I hoped would be in this story by the tags of Shining Armor and Cadence! Though unfortunately Cadence wasn't in much of a scene, but still surprising to see her here! Even if you used the name of a toy pony, if memory serves... well, still nice! And almost like a friendship lesson at the end, even if it wasn't actually being taken down.

I would think there would be 1 rank above red which is for compliant but cooperative mares. Mares that have their servitude so drilled into them they no longer need reminders and can actually be trusted to be intelligent and independent. They can actually talk to their masters and advice them. They can even talk back if they think their master is going to make a bad decision. Of course if the master insists they will stand down.
I do like your more balanced writing. Some masters would indeed have a strong fondness of their slaves. This was also so historically.

One thing I always do find weird is that they say mares are worthless so often. After all if this is a commonly accepted fact they wouldn't say it. They would just say 'mares' especially since they are worthless in a relative sense. They aren't truly worthless of course.
I still find it strange they keep using nicknames like Cunt and such. Wouldn't names be simply easier? Or at least unique nicknames? That way you can call them the same thing every time.
