Alicorns—while long considered the most prestigious and blessed members of the Equestrian Aristocracy—in fact, suffer from a debilitating hereditary condition.
His Grace, the Duke of Ambeu, an aging and crippled Alicorn, ponders his own life, politics, and democracy in Equestria.
This is a side story to Rise of the Fluffy Ponies.

How is this related to communism?

It is not; it is about socialism--to some extent. I posted it in the communist group for a few reasons: many stories in the group are related to generic leftist politics; the main story this accompanies does involve communist parties, at least somewhat; there really are no socialist groups.
4688076 Ok, fair enough.
A very different set of tales from what I had been reading all night. It was a refreshing change of pace.
I have yet to read your other works, but shall endeavor to do so at some point soon. It's a shame this is as underrated as it is, well done political pieces aren't exactly common.
Honestly, I'd love to see you tackle a more conventional style story centered around Equestrian politics. I think you'd have a real, solid shot at being able to rationalize, justify, and even humanize (ponieize?) some of the noble class that are so frequently dismissed, mocked, or belittled by other authors. Ah well, it's a though.
In the end, I thank you for the taste of something different.
