An update? Awesome! Thank you so very much :3
Loved it, even if it was heartbreaking. Poor Crafter.
I didn't think it was possible, but now I feel even sorrier for Crafter....
That being said, still an interesting chapter to read and a novel (to me at least) way to learn character's backstories.
Keep em coming
"focusing my telepathy on briefly"
You mean telekinesis. You may wish to use magic though, since you use telekinesis a line later.
Poor Crafter, poor mares.
Now write some more.
Good to see this story continuing to update. I hope there's more coming soon!
I was going to say this chapter made me feel worse for Crafter, and it did, but I think a more proper way to put it is that it made me feel more attached to him as a character. I already had a rough idea of what happened after he left his stable before Snap Roll found him, but getting to read about it from his perspective adds more impact to those events, I think. Basically, this chapter showed what the readers had previously only been told. I liked it.
And I noticed there was some foreshadowing of Crafter coming back to the stable. I hope there's a fight with the Judicators.
Just one question, was this chapter part of the RP, or was it just written separately?

Hey, glad you like it! Those points are a lot of what I was hoping to get across, so that pleases me quite a bit. I certainly hope there was enough foreshadowing/lasting exposition/context, because... staying vague enough, this chapter was necessary to the overall story. I'll leave it at that.
Hopefully another chapter before New Years, but I've given some positively atrocious estimates before. Regardless, this is one I've been looking forwards to for a long time.
This chapter was done as an organic part of the roleplay, chronologically speaking. We technically went through it about halfway through the chapter he was ultimately introduced in (though, context-wise, Spring Breeze hadn't been the same sort of connection when she was originally found in the bunker. That one was an... embellishment. And a bit of a story, perhaps for another time) - I took temporary control of several characters (Spring, Haywire, Wingnut and Boltcutter), Belmor played the rest, and we basically brought Crafter's roleplayer into the world. I would like to say, he's... pretty much the perfect human being to be put into the role. He likes the Fallout setting, he's a fantastic roleplayer, and he likes ponies... but he still hasn't actually read FOE original (despite having gone through the effort to acquire a paper version, might I add), nor actually played through ANY Fallout game. So we gave him as much context for his own little world as we possible could... then set him loose in the wide open Northern Wasteland. A lot of the questions he asks are questions that literally didn't occur to the rest of us. So Crafter learning as he goes along... it's a tangible thing. It doesn't even involve gradually decreasing meta-knowledge, his player is straight up learning things.
He and his wife also have a kid due IRL in the next month and a half, roughly, so congratz to them.
With the amount of backstory you gave him he could literally have his own story all his own.
I get the sense that Crafter someday would like to go back to his Vault and get revenge for being wronged himself and more so over the death of his friends.
Oh... my...
That was good. :D
I think I have a rather interesting perspective on this, considering that my own Stable hero is closer to the Judiciaries than to the regular Stable ponies. It's fascinating.
