Cloudhammer

I never make mistakes. I thought I'd made one once, but I was wrong.

Doctor Wyatt Brown's theories about long-lost civilizations predating the Egyptians or the Mesopotamians were at best the source of campus jokes, and at worst almost a case for his termination. But when word reached him of unknown artifacts discovered in the mud flats of Spain, he rushed to see if any would prove his hypothesis.

What he didn't expect was how right he was. Or quite how long-lost the civilization he found was.

Kind of a reverse 'you fools' situation.

I want to upvote this, but I can't because the implication is that the ponies got killed off with the dinosaurs... :pinkiesad2:

Oh, that was just fascinating, Cloudhammer, I'm not sure I've seen anyone take quite this approach to this general idea. Any chance of a continuation?

Darnit, why didn't people write finished stories for this contest? D:

"Complete"? You're ending it here?

You better make more content.
You not like me when no content. :twilightangry2:

This is some very strange timing for a complete tag. It's a very interesting idea with competent execution, but it feels nowhere near complete enough to really recommend.

Best of luck in the contest. I truly think this story would be a strong contender if it had more content.

well a very interesting Story, with a nice end with a reversed "Planet of the apes" End,
What about a sequel:twilightsmile:

Canterlot is supported by crystal-powered spells?
Headcanon accepted.
I love it when an author comes up with one of these brilliant little explanations for things.

The question then comes down to -- with the impending doom of ponies coming up -- how many can one transport into the future without messing the future up? Would letting them know make them change history so one never existed?

5818871 The Yucatan impact occured 65 million years ago. Even allowing for windage pony civilisation has hundreds of thousands of years to go before it gets hit. By then they will have either died out, or evolved to extra-dimensional super-beings. Indeed, the fact that the asteroid hit indicates that ponies weren't around. Between Princess Celestia, Luna, Twilight and Cadence, they could smack that thing into a solar escape orbit without breaking a sweat.

And who said the author was talking about the Yucatan impact in the story?
Not that I don't agree with your comment.

Hold on, wait. If you never made mistakes, and you thought you made a mistake but you were wrong, then doesn't that mean you made a mistake by thinking you made a mistake?

I want to favorite this, but it's quite clear that this fic will stay on it's cliffhanger, especially since the author hasn't had a single chapter posted in 4 years...guess they got out of writing... sad, this fic has a ton of potential.... guess i gotta note not to read any more from this author, so much potential that will never be seen
