All We Wanna Do Is Play!

"I told you we should've taken a taxi, Silver Spoon!" whined Diamond Tiara.

"Well I didn't know that there was going to be a stupid storm." Silver Spoon shot back, tucking her wet mane behind her ear.

As the two fillies struggled on their path, the silver filly had an idea once a familiar apple farm was in view.

"Hay Diamond, why don't we take shelter in there?" she asked, pointing a hoof at a sturdy barn.

"In a barn? Are you crazy!" Diamond shouted over the roar of the wind, "What if that blank flank is there?" she pointed out.

"In this storm?"

"I...guess you're right."

The CMC laid on their backs and watched the roof out of boredom. They were playing in the barn and were about to leave, however the pounding of rain and the roar of the wind held them captives in the barn.

"Well this stinks." Scootaloo sighed while getting onto her hooves.

"At least things can't get any worst." Sweetie Belle replied, getting onto her hooves as well.

Apple Bloom was about to answer, however she was interrupted by the barn doors swinging open and two earth ponies scrambling inside and closing the doors.

"Ya just had ta say nothin' can't git any worst." Apple Bloom grumbled, jumping onto her hooves.

Sweetie Belle ignored the country filly and trotted carefully towards Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara, "What are you two doing here?" she questioned.

"We were walking to Silver's house until this storm caught us by surprise." Diamond explained, trying to shake the water from her mane.

"So we decided to take shelter in this storm." Silver finished while readjusting her glasses.

"Well I'm out of here." Scootaloo said, walking towards the door. When she opened one of the doors, a huge gust of wind shoved the little filly on the ground and slammed the door closed.

"Well that was unexpected." Sweetie Belle piped up, helping her fallen friend.

"Why don't you just teleport out of this stupid barn?" Diamond asked.

The unicorn blushed, "Well I uh, don't know how to teleport." she explained

"What about your brother and sister?"

"They're in Appaloosa visiting ma cousin."

"Well this is just great" Silver sighed, flopping onto the dusty ground.

Suddenly Apple Bloom had an idea, "Why don't we play ah game while we wait fer this storm ta end?" she suggested.

"Like what?" Scootaloo questioned.

"How about we play pirates!" Sweetie exclaimed.

"I'll be the awesomest captain you'll ever see!"

Diamond Tiara rolled her eyes, "Awesomest isn't even a word."

"So!" the Pegasus shot back.

"Well I'm going to be a sea monster."

"And ah'll be the crew!"

Diamond Tiara glared out the dusty barn window and into the pouring rain, "I can't believe we have to be stuck with these three." she grumbled.

Silver Spoon nodded, however her focus was on the three fillies with no marks, "How do they do it?" she whispered, her eyes in awe as Sweetie Belle tackled Scootaloo to the ground.

"Do what?" Diamond questioned, still keeping her gaze at the window.

"Their imagination, how do they do it?" Silver answered, smiling a little as Apple Bloom jumped onto the ground and tackled her unicorn friend, allowing Scootaloo to climb back onto the hay pile.

"It's just foalish, Silver."

The silver colored filly looked up at her friend and raised an eyebrow, "But remember when we pretended to be the royal sisters?"

"We were five, Silver."

The silver filly sighed and looked back at the CMC and readjusting her glasses, wondering what ever happened to her friend.

"Take that!" Apple Bloom cried, tickling the ferocious beast as a huge wave crashed down on them.

"ROOAAARRR!!" the sea monster bellowed, throwing the pirate back onto her boat before sinking back into the protection of the salty water.

"WHOOHO!!" Captain Scootaloo cheered.

"Uh Scoots, ya r suppose ta say argh."

The pegasus blushed, "Right, I mean ARGH! Now we can set sail and head to Candy Island!"

"I wanna come to!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed while pulling herself up onto a hay barrel.

"Fine, then how about we meet you there and then you try and stop us from taking the candy away from the island?" Scootaloo suggested.

"Okay." the unicorn chimed, jumping back onto the dusty floor.

"To Candy Island!" Scootaloo shouted.

Silver Spoon shifted her position as she saw Scootaloo and Apple Bloom jumping on the hay barrels as Sweetie Belle followed close behind on the ground.

"When will this stupid storm end? I'm sooo bored!" Diamond Tiara moaned.

"Why don't we play with the CMC?" Silver suggested, smiling as Apple Bloom tripped and crashed into Scootaloo.

"No way, Silver." the snotty filly said, gazing at the three giggling fillies in anger.

"Why not?"

"Because they're blank flanks and the pegasus can't even fly."

"So? It looks like they're having a lot of fun."

"For babies."

"Why are you being so grumpy towards them?"

"Because...because...because I can!"

"Well I'm going to play with them." Silver Spoon declared, jumping back onto her hooves and taking a couple of steps towards the CMC.

Diamond Tiara looked away in disgust as her only friend trotted over to the three blank flanks, "Fine, join them." she muttered under her breath, "I don't even need you."

"Candy, ho!" Captain Scootaloo shouted in triumph.

"Aye captain." Apple Bloom responded, jumping off of the small boat and into the shallow water.

Captain Scootaloo smiled like a fool as she jumped into the salty water and dragged her hooves towards the island of candy. However, she was soon interrupted by a silver filly trotting shyly towards her.

"C-can I play with you guys?" Silver Spoon asked shyly.

"What did you just say?" Sweetie Belle questioned, jumping out from behind a pile wooden boards.

The silver filly took a steady breath to relax herself, "I'm really bored and I want to play with you three." she explained.

"Why don't you just hang out with Diamond Tiara?" Scootaloo questioned.

"She's just looking out a window." Silver answered.

The CMC quickly huddled up in a tight circle and began to whisper, once in a while looking over their shoulders to see if Silver Spoon was still there. After what seemed like hours, Apple Bloom broke free from her group and walked up to the eager filly.

"Ya may join us, bu-"

"THANK YOU!" Silver Spoon cut in, tackling the farm filly into a hug.

"But ya have ta call us by our names...c-can't breath."

"Sorry." Silver Spoon replied, releasing her grasp on the filly who crumpled to the ground.

Diamond Tiara gazed at the four laughing fillies in anger as they tackled each other for an old ball they kept calling a "Candy Orb." There laughing only burning her hatred for them, especially Silver Spoon who left her in favor of the three blank flanks.

"Babies." Diamond muttered under her breath as she returned her gaze to the window, pleased that the wind and rain has started to die down. Now once this stupid storm dies stops, then she and Silver Spoon can leave this stupid barn and return back to their normal lives.

"Come on Diamond! Play with us!"

The filly with the tiara turned her head towards an eager Silver Spoon, "No thank you."

"But we need another crew member to help us defeat the monster."

"I'm just really tired."

Silver Spoon frowned, but nodded sympathetically before being tackled by Sweetie Belle who had the "Candy Orb" clutched in her hooves. Diamond smiled and laid her head on the window sill, closing her eyes.

Suddenly, Diamond Tiara was awoken back to present day as she heard a loud crash and felt a gust of icy cold wind press against her coat. As she turned around, she saw a broken window and four fillies with guilty looks on their faces. Diamond Tiara sighed and trotted towards them, trying to conceal a smile that threatened to form on her lips.

"SHE DID IT!" Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Silver Spoon shouted, pointing their hooves at Sweetie Belle.

"It slipped out of my hooves!" the unicorn explained, "Besides, it's Apple Bloom's fault for not telling us that it'll be slippery."

"Ah told ya Winona use ta play wit it!"

"Use to. So there shouldn't have been any dog spit all over it!"

Diamond Tiara sighed, "Can you blank flanks quit yelling! You're giving me a headache!"

Apple Bloom was about to scold Diamond for calling her and her two friends blank flanks, however she was interrupted by Silver Spoon letting out a groan.

"It stopped raining!" the silver filly moaned.

Diamond Tiara quickly grabbed her friend's writs and began to drag her towards the door, "Come on Silver, we don't want to worry your father any longer." she said, wanting to get as far away from this barn as fast as she can before she gave into the CMC.

"But I was about to defeat the sea monster and discover the golden crystal candy with the candy orb!" the filly informed, digging her hooves into the ground to slow Diamond down.

"It's just a silly game, come along."

"No."

Diamond Tiara stopped in her tracks and turned around to face her friend, "What did you just say?" she questioned.

The silver filly took a deep breath and looked her friend in the eyes, "I said no."

Scootaloo winced, Sweetie Belle nearly fainted, and Apple Bloom gasped in shock. For no filly ever stood up to Diamond Tiara like that.

"This can't end well." Sweetie Belle whispered to her friends.

"Why you little...LADY DOG!!" Diamond Tiara shouted angrily.

"Well I don't like how you're controlling my life! You're not my parents!" Silver Spoon exclaimed, ripping herself free from Diamond Tiara, she started heading towards the three stunned fillies; only to stop and look over her shoulder at the flustered filly, "The rain ended, so why don't you just go home." she suggested, though it was more of a command.

Diamond Tiara flattened her ears, her heart shattering into a million pieces.

"S-Silver."

"Just...go."

"But,"

"NOW!"

Diamond Tiara turned to leave as hot tears flowed from her eyes, however she was stopped by an elderly green mare blocking the door.

"Granny!" Apple Bloom shouted happily.

Granny Smith smiled sadly and moved to the side, "Why don't we let these two work out their little problem hm? Ah made some apple pie during the storm."

The CMC nodded and galloped out the door. Once Granny Smith closed the door behind her, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon looked at each other. Both waiting for the other to speak. Finally Diamond Tiara broke the silence,

"Silver, I-I just didn't want your heart to be broken like mine."

"Diamond, they're really nice fillies. They're not like them."

"I-I know that now, I guess that I was just being selfish."

Silver Spoon wiped the tears from her eyes and rest her hoof on Diamond's shoulder, "Friends?"

Diamond Tiara smiled and gave her friend a hug, "Friends." she whispered.

"Now let's get some pie, I'm hungry."

Diamond laughed and the two fillies walked out of the barn and towards the house, there mouths drooling as the smell of Apple Pie reached their noses.

You had to challenge the universe didn't you, Sweetie Belle? Ugh, I hate this dialogue to the core!

a line that tells us why DT is over protective rather than taking that idea and expanding the ending with it to add a more heartwarming scene between DT and SS. Or something.

I'm a little curious as to what this fic was like before intervention to make it 'better' because I could only cringe with how often blank flanks was used when she even admits she never cared about whether they were blank flanks since it was used as a way to get a reaction from them. Ponyville Confidential shows her making compliments and enjoying her time around the CMC, proving she can work with others, even if she later throws a tantrum when the CMC finally learn their lesson when the stuff they did finally started hitting home for them.

And Twilight Time. Come on. Silver was moaning and practically making lovey-dovey faces in this fic all too quickly despite how she, on her own, makes up some of the harshest comments and funny faces at the CMC.

Fic could of used more pacing. DT characterization is sorely lacking. I don't mind the story itself, though the bits above got over used in such a small amount of time, could of used words such as jealousy or anger. Looking at ponies like she was looking at some pile of manure just seems extreme when used so much.

I'd remove the line of seeing into DT's mind and what she's feeling and thinking, "she just didn't want the filly's heart to be broken as hers was", and expand that to a heart to heart apology with Silver.

Silver is shown as a loyal and caring friend in the canon series toward Diamond Tiara. She even has thoughts of her own and isn't afraid to let DT know when she's crossing a line. Apple Family Appreciation Day and Pinkie Pride, and Twilight Time.

Write the same story as all the other Silver Spoon writers do. It's okay. People eat it up. You already get some points of originality for not ending it with the usual "And Silver Spoon and the CMC lived happily ever after, once Silver Spoon dropped her best friend she only pretended to like for however many years."

Sorry, I just want to go Juggernaut through a few dozen walls with my head when I feel I'm finally reading something that looks like it might finally break away from pile of breakup stories, to one who at least tries to do something close to show canon and EXPAND on what we know with characters. This fanon Silver Spoon who feens for CMC love and attention is just... BORING. Unrelatable.

This may seem harsh. But bare with me. Don't be the 1216467242178 "Silver Spoon befriends breaks it off so she can be with the CMC" story writer. Think I'm making up how common that fanon is? Check out the Silver Spoon group. Check Redemption folder. Check any story not from Mudpony, Mattricole, or Yukito and Bootsyslickmane.

You had potential to show Silver Spoon knowing how to push DT's buttons, how to get her to react and show off how much fun she was having while trying to get DT to join in with the way she plays with DT. DT has to do something fun with Silver aside from that foalish flank-bump hoofshake; heck that's like their Team Rocket trademark and hardly anyone writes them ever doing it.

Anywho, I'd a added at least a few hundred extra words at the least to that ending. Leaving it to the reader for interpretation there after that DT part just ruins it for those who want SS to break up with DT and ruins it for those who read the line hoping for an actual heart to heart moment as to why DT is so bossy with her at times.

That's it. No more from me. Story isn't bad. Story isn't good. Story needs a bit of a fixer upper. Also, not sure if you're trying to give SS an accent but she is "bored" not "board".

Anyhow, take this with a grain of salt. It's not YOU or this fic that I find disappointing. It's mostly the fanon troupes with Silver that is just very disappointing.

4611899 Heh, yeah~ well, it wasn't the nicest way to put things, for that I'm sorry. But the story looks and reads better than the last and the ending has an ending now, which even leaves room for a potential prequel as to what their past friends were like or some secret play dates.

Anyhow, nice changes towards the latter half. Have a like.
