Ch.4 First Day of School

Stella was sleeping in her bed one morning, until she was woken up to Brave Heart blowing a horn.

"WHHHHAAAAA", yelled Stella jumping out of her bed

"Rise and shine Princess", laughed Brave

Stella walked out of her room an she ran into Skyla. She looked tired as well.

"Let me guess", said Skyla "Brave woke you up?"

"Yup", replied Stella

The girls walked into the kitchen and saw Crystal making breakfast.

"Morning girls", greeted Crystal

"Crystal? Since when do you make breakfast?", asked Skyla

"Well, Dad had to leave early for royal stuff", explained Crystal putting eggs and toast on a couple of plates and giving them to the girls "So he asked me to make breakfast"

"What kind of royal stuff?", asked Stella eating her toast

"Something about King Sombra and the changeling queen Chrysalis being married", explained Crystal eating her eggs

"Really?", asked Skyla looking up

"Yeah and something about their evil spawns…I don't know", replied Crystal "I tuned him out while he was explaining it to me"

The three fillies ate their breakfast until it was time to leave.

"C'mon girls, time for school", said Crystal

"I still can't believe it's my first day of school", cheered Stella

"Yeah, sorry Dad couldn't be here", apologized Crystal

"It's ok, your gonna be there, that's all that matters", assured Stella hugging her

They walked through the Empire until they reached a medium sized building with foals running around.

"Bye girls", said Crystal hugging them "Dad's gonna pick you two up after school"

"Ok thanks Crystal", replied the two fillies

Skyla and Stella walked in the building as Crystal walked away.

"Here I'll walk you to your class", offered Skyla

"Thanks", replied Stella

They kept walking until they reached the kindergarden class.

"Nervous?", asked Skyla

"Nope", replied Stella

"That's my girl", said Skyla hugging her "Ok kid, have fun"

"Thanks Sky"

Skyla walked away. When Stella walked in the room, she saw a bunch of foals socializing. She decided to sit in a desk and read.

"Hi there", greeted a voice from behind

Stella turned around and saw a lime green crystal unicorn filly with a green mane.

"Greetings", replied Stella

"Are you a princess?", asked the filly

"How can you tell?"

"Well you have wings and a horn, so I figured"

"Well, your correct"

"Really? That's so cool"

"Yeah, I guess"

"Im Esmeralda, by the way", introduced Esmeralda holding out a hoof "But you can call me Esmy for short"

"Nice to meet you Esmy", replied Stella shaking her hoof "I'm Stella Nova"

"Hey is this seat taken?", asked another voice

The two fillies turned their heads and saw an orange pegasus colt with a red and yellow mane.

"No", replied Stella

"Thanks", said the colt sitting down "The name's Firelock"

"Im Stella Nova, and this is Esmeralda or Esmy for short", introduced Stella

"I couldn't help but notice that your coat isn't crystaly", said Esmy

"Oh that's because Im from Cloudsdale", explained Firelock

"Cool", replied Stella

"Yeah, my dad just became a royal guard", explained Firelock "So we had to move to the Crystal Empire"

"No way", said Stella "My Daddy's the captain of the Royal Guards"

"Really? That's so cool", complimented Firelock

"So how are you liking the Empire?", asked Esmy

"Pretty good", replied Firelock "It's really bright though"

"Yeah, you get use to it", replied Stella

The three foals laughed until they heard laughter. They turned their heads and saw a couple of fillies surrounding a red crystal unicorn colt with a black mane with a yellow and orange streak. Stella started to blush.

"Who is he?", asked Stella

"That's my twin brother Jasper", explained Esmy

Jasper walked by the group and winked at Stella. Stella started to blush madly. When Firelock saw this, he started to get angry. Then, a purple crystal earth pony mare with a red mane and a piece of chalk as her cutie mark walked in. Everypony walked

"Hello there children", introduced the mare "My name is Ms. Shine, and I'll be your teacher this year"

Ms. Shine explained class rules and other information for about an hour. Then it was gym class. Stella and Firelock walked to the aerial field and saw a bunch of foals. They started talking amongst each other until a crystal pegasus mare walked in. She was grey with a black mane with a rock with wings as her cutie mark

"Good afternoon kids", introduced the mare "Im Ms. Hard Feather and I will teach you everything you need to know about flying and excercise. Now let's get started with an obstacle. I want all of you to fly a lap, through those cloud hoops in under two minutes. Any questions?"

Esmy raised her hoof.

"Yes, Esmeralda?", asked Ms. Hard Feather

"What if were not pegasi?", asked Esmy

"Than you can do it on land", explained Ms. Hard Feather "Who's first?"

Firelock raised his hoof.

"Ok Firelock, your up first", said Ms. Hard Feather

Firelock flew through the cloud hoops with great speed.

"50.6 seconds", announced Ms. Hard Feather "Nice job Firelock"

Everypony started cheering as he landed.

"Great job dude", complimented Stella giving him a hoof bump

"Thanks", replied Firelock blushing

"Who's next?", asked Ms. Hard Feather

"Me me me", cheered Stella raising her hoof

"Ok Stella Nova, go ahead", replied Ms. Hard Feather

"C'MON STELLA YOU CAN DO IT", cheered Esmy

"Yeah, what she said", added Firelock blushing

Stella flapped her wings, but she was not in the air. she flapped her wings again. She got a little bit of air, but she fell back down afterwords.

"Were waiting Stella", said Ms. Hard Feather

Stella flew up to the cloud hoop. She was doing great until her wings stopped flapping and she landed on a hoop. The hoop couldn't hold her wait so it disappeared and she fell to the ground. Everpony stared at her.

"What a lozer", said a magenta crystal pegasus with a lavender mane

"SPARKLE WIND", scolded Ms. Hard Feather

Everypony laughed at Stella as she walked back to her friends. Ms. Hard Feather blew her whistle, and everypony fell silent.

"You ok?", asked Firelock

"Yeah", replied Stella

After Gym they had Magic class. Stella, Esmy, and Firelock walked in the class room and saw a silver crystal unicorn stallion with a purple mane with a star with a beaker as his cutie mark.

"Greetings students", greeted the stallion "My name is Mr. Sterling Silver, but you can call me Mr. Sterling. Let's start this school year off with a spell project. I want you guys to perform a growth spell. And for non unicorns, a growth serum. Now grab a flower pot, beaker, and spell book and get started"

Esmy started performing a spell and she grew a flower.

"Nice job Esmy", complimented Stella

"Thanks", replied Esmy "Now you try"

Stella tried to perform a spell on the flower pot. She grew a flower bud, but it turned into a cupcake.

"A cupcake?", asked Esmy

"I was hungry", explained Stella eating the cupcake

At another table, Jasper performed a spell and he grew a rose. He walked over to Stella and gave it to her.

"Here", said Jasper "A beautiful flower for a beautiful filly"

"Thank you", replied Stella blushing

Firelock was making a potion while he was watching Stella. When he saw her blushing, he got angry and dropped a liquid potion in the beaker. Suddenly, it exploded, and smoke was everywhere. Mr. Sterling walked up to Firelock.

"And that students, is what not to do whenyou make a potion", explained Mr. Sterling

After a couple more lessons, school was over. Stella, Esmy, and Firelock, walked outside. Skyla and a gold crystal earth pony filly with a yellow mane with a diamond ring as her cutie mark.

"Hey Stell-Bell", greeted Skyla

"SKYLA", cheered Stella hugging her

"You remember my friend Golden Necklace, right?", asked Skyla refering to the golden earth pony filly

"Oh yeah, hi Goldie", greeted Stella

"Hey Stell", replied Golden Necklace "Well, my mom's here. Later Sky"

She walked to her mom.

"So Stella who are your friends?", asked Skyla

"This is Firelock, Jasper, and Esmeralda", introduced Stella

"Esmy for short", added Esmy "You must be Skyla?"

"You know who I am?", asked Skyla

"Yeah, Stella keeps talking about how a great sister you are", explained Firelock

"Aw Stell", replied Skyla hugging her "C'mon , Dad's waiting for us"

"Ok bye guys", said Stella hugging them

"Bye Stella", replied her friends

Stella walked to her father with a smile on her face.
