Ch.1 5 Years Later (Do you wanna build a Snowman?)

5 Years Later

The Crystal Empire was the same as ever. After Cadence passed, everypony was devastated. The kids had changed a lot. Brave Heart was now 18, and became a royal guard. Crystal Clear was 15, and had depression. Everyday, she would lock herself in her room. Skyla was 8, and she earned her cutie mark. It was a star with pink streamers, blue cloud, and a yellow moon. Stella Nova was now 5 years old. She woke up with a smile on her face. She looked out the window and saw that it had snowed. She looked out the window and saw that it was snowing. She ran out of her room an to the training room where she saw Brave Heart.

"Hey Brave", greeted Stella

"Morning Stella", replied Brave

"Its snowing"

"I can see that"

"Do you wanna build a snowman?"

"Sorry Stell-Bell, but Im training right now"

"That's ok, have fun"

Stella ran out of the room, and walked up to Crystal's bedroom door. She knocks on the door.

"Hey Crystal", called Stella "Do you wanna build a snowman?"

"GO AWAY STELLA", yelled Crystal

"Ok bye", said Stella walking away with a frown on her face. She walked into the kitchen and saw Skyla eating cereal.

"Hey Stella", greeted Skyla

"Hi Sky", replied Stella

They sat there quietly for a couple of seconds.

"Skyla?"

"Yeah"

"Do you wanna build a snowman?
C'mon let's go and play
I never see you anymore
Come out the door
It's like you've gone away", sang Stella

"Have you been watching Frozen?", asked Skyla

"I might've" replied Stella

"Carry on"

"We use to be best buddies
And now were not
I wish you would tell me why
Do you wanna build a snowman?
It doesn't have to be a snowman"

"Sure"

"YAY"

The two fillies grabbed their coats and went outside. They made a snowman and had a few laughs.

"This is a great snowman", said Stella

"Yeah, Mom would've loved it", replied Skyla

"Sky?"

"Yeah?"

"Whatever happened to Mommy?"

"Your gonna have to ask Daddy about that?"

"Can't you tell me?"

"Nope, sorry Stell"

"Ok, I'll ask him"

Stella walked back up to the castle to talk to her father

The Crystal Empire was the same as ever.

Eh, you know, just having an evil king getting thrown out of power, making the city disappear for quite a long time, then finally reappearing. Nothing special. Just the new ruler dying and all.

"Your gonna have to ask Daddy about that?"

Questions, how do they work?

"Ok, I'll ask him"

"Nope, sorry Stell"

"Carry on"

Seems that you forgot punctuation

Also, I would recommend using action tags in your dialogue. I will present part of your story in it's original form and a modified form to show you what I mean.

"Sky?"
"Yeah?"
"Whatever happened to Mommy?"

Stella tilted her head in curiosity.
"Sky?"
Skyla put down her bowl of cereal and turned to face her sister with cereal covering her face.
"Yeah?"
Stella scrapped a hoof across the ground lightly and bowed her head.
"Whatever happened to Mommy?"

It informs us who is doing the dialogue without repeating said, asked, responded,etc. Which by the way- Don't ever repeat synonyms for said in every sentence. Definitely use action tags instead.
