What happens when Metal Sonic works on becoming the Metal Overlord of the Metal Empire....and decides a dragon we all know and love would make a good tool of terror....the first servant of the Metal Empire to be freed from his prison of flesh....

I am leaning more towards C 'and' D I can't see shadow falling for them. can see him becoming friends with Pinkie but not falling for her and Twi would find him to stiff. I think Tails would make both Shy and Twi for he is kind and sweet but will protect what he cares for that would draw in both of them (mostly Shy) He is also smart easy to talk to and knows not to let work take over your life which would be a thing for Twi

Reading the comic series, when Shadow finally "opened up" to people, he could make a few sarcastic remarks. He was more of the "straight man", a person who it was hard to get reactions out of....kinda like Twilight when she's not paying attention in comparison.
Glad to see your back. This should be interesting and I wonder just what Metal has planned for Spike.
I am always very hesitant about crossovers, especially romance ones and specifically anthro. That combination usually creates lazy crosses, but I actually like this.
You have a few narrative flaws; simple things like a little too much menial detail and slightly choppy dialogue, but overall your writing is quite nice.
I personally would have tails be with fluttershy because they balance each other out with their appearance of being younger than the others, and with their crazy knowledge on their fields of interest.
I would also pair shadow with twi, because I think Pinkie and him should have more of a rival/friend relationship that you seemed to set up with Pinkie taking him as a challenge. Also, because it would be funny to have a scene were they are both just doing something quietly and Rarity tries to give them more outgoing dating advice. Deadpan looks all around!
I would comment more on the strange balance of detail and over-description, but this was the introduction chapter. Things probably have to be at least slightly rushed when you try to introduce predefined characters to each other. However, I would recommend slowing the pace down a little in the next chapters and trying to focus on details that are more important than exact height.

One thing I have trouble, and I've been trying to work on it, is describing characters.
I can get a good image in my head, but when I try to actually describe it....it always seems to fall short.
It is something I will keep working on, and thank you for your constructive criticism.
I would say B and C for a couple of reasons.
First Shadow and Pinkie are both opposites and will show that Shadow has a soft side
Second Tails and Fluttershy because they are both the "cute" onesof the team and Fluttershy seemed really interested when he started to fly.

What I really loved was the line you had with Knuckles about grapes. I don't know why, but that was just funny and really seemed like something he'd say!

Now he really will feel like that not to mention he is now forced in the public eye as a prince so there is no chance of blending in. If I hadn't vote already I say A. Well at least Spike is somewhat adjusting to his forced changes. Though it's probably a surprise for him to be since he always considered himself to be a monster for so long. Though the changes could come in handy when he and the others face Metal's army. I don't suppose he'll be training to get used to his new changes.

Well, the changes will also completely change the episode "Secret of My Excess", as I do not see Spike's "Metal Side" allowing him to go crazy. Instead, on top of the CMC troubles....well....I've said to much.

He would have-but the "Metal upgrades" keep him the size he grew into-but he still can think as clearly as his old size.
If there was an attempt to revert back, the machinery would fail and kill him.

As for Lava Reef Zone....it might providemore than a lava bath.....
When I played "Sonic 3 & Knuckles" (the game/s/ the zone is located), it as also filled with gems.
In other words, its a paradise for dragons!
I don't know if you already put the shadow thing in motion with chapters I haven't read but Shadow isn't one to... Well he just doesn't seem like he would get with anypony that ain't emo... Pinkie and twighlight being the opposite of emo.

Shadow's "emo-ness" as you put it, is actually caused by being raised as a science experiment/weapon (and watching his only friend die)....basically, he has the same trouble Twilight did-he remains aloof because he doesn't truly know friendship.
Once someone gets past that, they find a supportive and loyal friend. His vice is that he is overconfident in his abilities and has a bit of a temper.
He just needs time to adjust-it'll take more than "about two weeks", but we should be getting glimpses of his true personality before "hearts and hooves day"
Also, one relationship problem he has is the fact he doesn't age-he looks the same age as Sonic (22), but he is really around (54-58)

Oh I see, Cadance will try to get the two of them together, though I hope she does the same for Spike and Rarity since nothing much has happened between the two of them. And it looks like Tails and Shy are getting closer to each other.

Good to see an update. I would say go for it on both parts. I would say about Moondancer putting moves on Spike with Rarity getting jealous before both decided to share him. So when is the big fight between Chysilis and Spike and just what Shadow is going to show Spike after the party?

What Shadow is going to show off is a powerful technique called Chaos Spear. By drawing chaos energy, the user "electrified" the energy and launches it as large, golden spearhead.
