Nondis is a man who managed to find himself Equestria. While Twilight and the other princesses try to find him a way home, he realizes that finding a way back is only a minor problem in comparison to his growing attachments to some of the Mane Six.

BACK FROM THE PIT, BITCHES!
Shit's gonna go down! Yeah! Can't wait!
bring me more chapters!! or i will kill baby kittens feed the bodies to the parents and make them have more kittens
HORY SHEETO! this shapter was INTENSE!!!
Havent read last 3 chapterz yet catching up. Lord of rings trilogy (books) had about 473k words. Youre almost beating it in word count.
Something must've happened that I missed, when was Nondis such an unlikeable prick?
Ahhh yes, I love it when the lies begin to unravel. The problem is Nondis has no trust in Mel or his family. Its hard for an Extrovert parent trying to raise an introverted child. You see them struggling with simple things like sharing their feelings doing cooperative physical activities. So you want to push them thinking they just need to get over this and they will do well. Sooner or later after all that pushing and encouraging, their failure starts to feel like laziness. An unwillingness to learn or grow, but to that child it feels like the impossible. Failure after failure, the just grow more and more discouraged until they feel that the task becomes pointless. Some parents don't understand this. And it leads to a breakdown in communication. Both start pushing and both failing to understand what the other is trying to do. Eventually Nondis lost faith in his parents that they wanted what was best for him, and it will be a hard lesson for him. Parents want whats best for their child, even if they don't know how best to do that.
first thing that popped in my head when i read this, i dont no y
Don't worry, it was not a bad chapter... It make me think how much is Discord going to discover in the human world.
this is like a good slice of life chapter and of course Discord bringing chaos to Earth.
Another fine chapter.
Needs more Discord on Earth
Lying is an art, and Nondis sucks at it.
I would of thought Discord would've been stronger in the human world, due to wars and violence and stuff.
6306978 Frustration. It can do a lot of damage to one's demeanor and they often come across as disrespectful if approached incorrectly. Everything is becoming unraveled at once and he knows that he can't keep up, so his frustration causes him to become a bit crass and ornery.
6307023 This guy does a good job explaining it.
But to add from the introverted perspective, it's often difficult when your family pushes you to become active in the conversation. And it's because of that uncomfortable push makes you want to withdraw completely. It doesn't help that you have active parents who are openly sociable. And often times, introverted persons usually would confide in others outside of the family structure, as they are seen as a lot more open to your opinion (this is not always true and can lead to disaster if told to the wrong person). The reason behind this is because you do happen to get a lot more truth from the stranger on the street than you do your own brother (weird how the world works). So they try to force themselves to become sociable, succumbing to peer-pressure, having a hard time being "one of the crowd" where the result is that they come across as awkward and strange.
And based on other chapters throughout the story, he's had a hard time trying to establish himself in the human world.
Nondis can understand that talking to ponies who don't know a thing about human interaction is much easier due to the lack of judgement from the same perspective. But applying that skill to those in the human world is much more difficult considering that the social barriers are much more difficult to overcome in contrast to the world with the similar yet easier construct. The ponies were open to knowing who Nondis was, and even then he was reluctant. But it started as a matter of "what are you" rather than "who are you." So it's much easier to break the ice when you have a species of sentient beings who don't know you (strangers/aliens) and they can go by your words as to what you are and what you represent. The stress is there, but it's not as prominent as you going in KNOWING that you're a dignitary on behalf of the human race. And to that point, Nondis just thought he was waiting on his ride home so he didn't have a problem explaining what he was.
So yeah, you see some (SERIOUS) regression of Nondis in this chapter. But note that it's not necessarily a permanent thing.
6307576 There a difference between logic-based chaos and chaos based on principle. Discord defies logic and the laws of physics. The world has fallen into chaos due to mankind no longer adhering to the principles that were once established. Sure he would love to stick around just to see how bad it gets, but breaking the laws of physics would kinda draw the attention away from whatever mankind was preoccupied with towards the brand-new thing that can morph it's head into any shape and teleport between dimensions.
Remember, humans have no concept of magic. Discord knows this and has opted to only observe rather than become the center of attention. After all, there's a lot for him to look into without intervening. He'll be thoroughly entertained from historical accounts as well as current events.

That's very true, but Nondis also propably is suffering from a bit of infiriority complex. By assuming that their judgement is negative while watching their acceptance of his brothers, it would place a great burden on him. From their prospective they are trying to guide and encourage his development. But to him they are just punishing the one that doesn't align with the family ideals. In a sense nither is wrong. And deep down he knows this and seeing that he's not living up to the potential of either brother is hard on him.
The funny thing is Harold is probably an Introvert as well. Growing up in the sixties and seventies forced him to conform and be sociable or face a world where you don't eat. In modern day we kids can get away with hiding in our rooms and escaping into games as stuff. The things Harold had were cars, fishing, and sports. You wanted to be a nerd back then that was about it. And most likely he turned to drinking at an early age to relive the social pressure. The old school escapism. Can't run off into your own world of Internet make belive, get blitzed so you don't care what others think about you. The thing is sometime it's hardest to connect with the ones most like us.
Evil cliffhanger, as usual. XD
6306372 Fuck you and your epic cliffhangers man damn!
Son of a... Started reading this before I went to work. I almost finished it too. Could've been done 13 hours ago.
Bout that time for things to get... Well they're getting.
Man, this cliffhanger is a bitch! Hope the next chapter comes soon.

TheSillyanon: just what is going on? Why have you kidnapped me?
Random viewer: and now anon, we will discuss your methods of cliff hangers! *chuckles in a evil manner*
TheSillyanon: NO, PLEASE NO!
*electrical failure*
random viewer: SHIT! why dose this always happen when we try to use the GOD DAMN TORTURE MACHINE! CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE GET THE POWER BACK ON SO WE CAN USE A TORTURE MACHINE!
Pinkiepie: I think someone forgot to pay the bill wedgie
random viewer: WILL SOMEONE PAY THE FUCKING BILL!
Six to one says Discord ends up on a dissection table if the US military ever gets involved. Though knowing him he'll probably find it funny.
And, um, not to be rude or anything Nondis, but your dad's kind of an... Let's go with butt. At least with social interactions anyway.
Also, I actually found this chapter very well done author dude, especially the tongue in cheek moment where Nondis' internal thoughts feel more like it's about writer's block than anything else.
Keep up the rockin' story writer bro.

P.S. Ha Ha. Francis. It's funny because it's actually a less embarrassing name than Shining Armor.
P.P.S. Lastly, is anyone else thinking that Discord totally just played Nondis with the call of "Sunset Shimmer"? I just feel like it'd be something he would do. Hell, I'd pretty much do the same thing if I could change my tone of voice that well.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY IT'S ALIVE!
Also, the GIF misspelled winner.
I want Nondis' dad to meet Discord "Hey Dad, want to meet a god?"
I demand an apology for the cliffhanger, my heart couldn't take it.
Let me guess, Pinkie set something up for him before they left, leaving the readers thinking osmething bad happened, but in reality it is anything but?
By Sunbutt's Big Flank! That chapter REALLY hurts. My stomach was so tied up in knots because of the epic cringefest. I swear I think I felt cringes echoing through time. At least I know where all those unexplained cringes I'd had as a kid came from
I actually checked to make sure I didn't have Sparklebutt's Cutie Marks because I couldn't think of anything else that would be that cringey.
Reminds me of this scene from the emoji movie.

Everypony is acting so reckless. MC is trying to prevent international incidents, family issues, and an engagement. Guy might have a breakdown.
I don’t think I like the Melany character refusing to harken to “no.”
