Yeah I know... They're the two most important ponies in his life, and Shining Armor definitely seems like the kind of Pony that will do whatever it takes to protect his loved ones, no matter what. Cadence is really lucky to have such a brave, caring stallion as her husband, and Twilight is lucky to have such a wonderful brother who's always there for her.
Well done shining. There's something slightly odd when they are discussing the whole hive mind and food sources. It just feels a little brief? Has shining seen changelings iin action before or did they capture a few after the wedding? He was rather out of it given the whole drained of love and mind controlled thing.

Out of those, only Koalas fit the argument. They're so specialised (and stupid) that they wont even eat eucalypt leaves that aren't on branches.
Vampire Bats eat any source of blood, and Pandas actually need to eat the bugs that live in the bamboo to get the protein they need. Heck, Pandas will kill and eat birds if they aren't getting enough protein (there's even a video on youtube somewhere with a Panda attacking and eating a goose that flew into the enclosure). Turned out that the zoos had been cleaning the bamboo that was being fed to the Pandas, meaning they weren't getting the protein they needed and thus the whole reason they weren't breeding.
