The idea was Zecora is telling Apple Bloom a tale that has been told for generations, I used the name Zecora to hint its a common name to have.

The story was my take on a comic in the Halo:Graphic Novel, where the Forerunners were in Africa burying the ARK, which the cover art is from. My take was Zebra Shamans or priestesses take on a new apprentice, they go on a journey into brush to a location only they know where their 'gods' are.
I envisioned they have to cross some invisible boundary that not only conceals them, but isolates them from the world around. Which is why when they crossed it, the air was stale because its been trapped for years.
Harvester sentinels are pretty terrifying, they're basically invincible to anything short of anti capital ship weapons and will harvest anything to meet their goals.
