On an extraodinary day, I find an extraodinary box in front of my house! I open it, and who could be lying there - but Pinkie Pie!
I had read My Little Dashie. True, it DID *sorta* make me act all sappy, but for this to rehappen - but to me! And with everypony's favourite pony - Pinkie Pie!
Little did I know, that picking up the box, and making up my mind to raise Pinkie Pie - or should I say, Pinkamena Diane Pie - was the exact definition of "biting off more than I can chew"

I don't know about anybody else, but I loved it. I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on this. Personally, I figured it'd be a pretty tall order to go against My Little Dashie, but you seemed confident, and I'm glad I opened it.
A couple of little things that I have issues with; I wish there were more details about what you talked about with Pinkie in your room. Got a little more telling than showing in there. It's not bad, it's good -- it could just be great, that's all. And why is Pinkie Pie not freaking out about you being a human? Has this version of Pinkie Pie seen humans before?
As far as self-insertions go, you don't make yourself seem to be more than you are, which is great. Keep eating the slices of humble pie and you'll be fine in this fic.

You are aware that by using an irritated looking straight-maned Pinkie as the title pic and referring to her as Pinkamena, you are going to give a number of people the idea you are referring to a certain... _different_ characterization of our favourite pink party pony. Which puts this fic on a _completely_ different track.
I had severe difficulties trying to decide the tone of this fic, and nothing so far has struck me as particularly 'hooking', bar the basic premise of the story. So put up the next chapter, and we'll see where that takes us, shall we?
