I'm glad to be part of a TIREK figurine. Nice little story.

Discord fell into having friends. Noone was more surprised than he when he finally noted how much losing his friend meant to him. He never made a conscious decision about it—he just drifted where the current took him.

Tirek isn't Discord. Tirek chooses not to be part of friendship.

Tirek is fast becoming my favorite villain. Loved the world-building here with Tartarus. Nice job!

Sitting here reading this while practicing a blues song on my guitar, and i thought it fit pretty well with the tone of this story.

Good story mate, never need to doubt that, especially coming from the guy who made Harpo Parish Nadermane my favorite background pony through a single story. Looking forward to more from you!

A good story describing the relationship between the two brothers.

Just so you know, Tirek finally has a character tag to add onto this.

If there's no light in tartarus how can he see?

Quite an interesting story. According to the Greek religions, Tartarus was a place in which you were forced to face your fears and being punished in the cruelest way possible. For example; a man was promised that if he achieved to rise a gigantic rock to the top of a mountain he would be free. However, every time he was about to reach the end, the rock would always slip and fall, making his efforts useless. And he kept on doing it, because he still remained a cruel parody of hope. Here happens something similar. I like it; well done :pinkiehappy:

Those who don't learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them, over, and over, and over.:ajsleepy:

You are right, Tirek will never learn. He is just refusing to be changed as you stated. I liked this fanfic, awesome job explaining all those emotions and all.

I really liked your expansion on the Tartarus mythology and your take on the relationship between Tirek and Scorpan. I interpreted your Scorpan as having retained some of his former villainous characteristics in his dialogue even though he's reformed, which I think is really appropriate. I often see him portrayed as a tragic, noble character, so this route is refreshing.

I hope you don't mind, but I've made an audio adaptation for this story over on Youtube. The link is here if you're interested:

I really love your depiction of Tartarus. :D

nice. listened to Thornquill's reading of this. a good story.

The author hasn't dropped in here for years, but nevertheless I reviewed this recently. An interesting take on Tartarus, with fairly compelling world-building considering the fic's brevity. Upvoted!
