A few weeks ago (or months, as it may be) I ponified a scene from BBC's Sherlock. It starred Twilight Sparkle as the equivalent of Sherlock Holmes and Applejack as the equivalent of John Watson.
Originally, that would have been the end of it. However, it occurred to me that in this case I could actually extend the character equivalents across the entire series of Sherlock. And so, Twilight, in a good way.
Piece by piece, I am ponifying the episodes of Sherlock. As such, a spoiler warning is warranted:

A faithful adaptation, and I would like to see how you treat Twilight.

I have a problem, and that problem is a lack of originality. You've taken the show Sherlock, and you've changed the names. I enjhoyed reading it, as I enjoyed watching the show, but...it's not right. If I were to do it, I'd put it into a more believably equestrian setting; no phones, no cars, not like that. I'd have blended the two worlds, not superimposed them.
Sherlock worked because it took the original stories, and adapted them into a more recognisable setting. You haven't adapted. You've overlaid.
who knows? Maybe one day, I'll do it myself.

I appreciate the comment. You're quite correct: it's a substitution fic, with only a few minor twists. Just a project I've decided to run with, though.
(Although, I probably should get around to posting some original works. I'll get back to you on that.)

...As much as I like this, it has a serious problem: There aren’t any changes. Twilight as Sherlock doesn’t feel like Twilight as Sherlock, she's Benedict Cumberoatches Sherlock, and if I wanted to see that I'd go to youtube.
Pretty good overall, I enjoy ponifications. Crossovers are too complicated for me.
Still, Derpy doesn't strike me as being like Donovan. I'd have Lightning Dust or Sunset Shimmer for someone like her.
