alarajrogers

Okay, I admit it, I'm probably not your mom. But odds are I'm old enough to be. Now with Patreon account (under alarajrogers) and short stories on Amazon (under Alara Rogers).

The tumbleweeds tumbled down the dusty streets like a thing that tumbles, and the sound of the theme song to Colt Eastwood's "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" played in the background. On a kazoo. By me. Because I was playing it on a kazoo. In the saloon. And then the weird fella who looked like some foals got their "build-a-model" kits for ponies, dragons and griffins all mixed up came in, sat down next to me, and offered to buy me a drink. Turns out chocolate milk really hits the spot when you've had a long, hard day of kazoo playing.

I like the idea of this prequel to Pinkie Pride! It makes so much sense! I wasn't sure the repeated phrases worked, but that's such a tiny detail, and I am so glad I stuck through! Allow me to pimp this like crazy.:pinkiehappy:

"Gloriously chaotic." Yes, Discord, that whole fiasco turned out to be pretty chaotic. :rainbowlaugh:

I can`t believe I actually thought she wouldn't freak out. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!:applejackconfused::derpyderp2:

You are a genius. This is hilarious:rainbowlaugh:

IT ALL MAKES SENSE. I LOVE IT.

This story is just... cheesy!:pinkiehappy:

... Sorry. I couldn't resist the pun. and I think Cheese Sandwich would approve.

But seriously, nice story. (The cheesy thing was just a pun, I don't really mean it.) I liked Cheese Sandwich's first-person narration, and the view we got of his rather scatterbrained train of thought. Nice work.

Good concept, but poorly executed.

So, now I'm thinking that Discord had something to do with all of the Mane 6's "rainbow key" episodes. This story already covers Pinkie's episode, and he played a major part regarding Twilight's key.

Here's my current guesses for the other four:
Rarity - Okay, this is a tough one for me to shoehorn Discord into... Let's try this: He spread some sleeping powder over everyone but Rarity???
Fluttershy - He's the reason that particular leaf was so easy for Spike to accidentally dislodge and interfere with the breeze.
Applejack - He convinced Flim and Flam to try the area around Ponyville once more.
Rainbow Dash - He's the reason Soarin was injured in the first place.

Yes, I realize how much of a stretch these are, but given we are talking about chaos incarnate, it just might be plausible...

I gave this a like even before reading it. I was sure it was going to be glorious, and it was. :pinkiehappy:

My guess would be that he hadn't anything to do with Rarity's or Rainbow's, but read the diary all along and figured out what was going on very quickly. So he pulled his scheme with Twily in Three's a Crowd and it didn't work. So for the next scheme, he sent Cheese rather than going after it himself. And not to forget, Pinkie and Cheese in one place makes Ponyville a keg of chaos gun powder, no matter which way it's going to turn.

Fluttershy and AJ... I got nothing.
Maybe he thought Fluttershy would like it if the breezies stayed with her longer than expected?

Or he lost interest in triggering the keys completely after that and just kept reading the diary. Would be a possibility, too.

I quite enjoyed this!

How so? Considering how Cheese acts in the intro to Pinkie Pride him doing a bit like this makes total sense, as does his desire to see Pinkie again. And the fact that he was swept up in the chaos of planning the party, and subsequently too busy to notice how Pinkie was affected makes sense too.

And you know that Discord is a massive jerk, who likes to play with culture references, and manipulate people into doing what he wants. So his whole portrayal here works really well (unless you think Discord isn't smart enough to pull something like this off).

Honestly this is proberbly one of the more in character stories I've yet seen by alarajrogers. What more could you want, out of a one shot (other than more chapters)?
