Dear me, Aesthetic... this is rather awesome, haha. I have to say, the vision for this story (that I have seen so far) is downright impressive, same as your character development. Also, the fight scenes flow very naturally but are still filled with plenty of tension. In other words, it's very well written, haha.

I could go on, but I won't. Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of this. Keep up the great work!

I'm starting to get the impression that, as grimdark as this story's content is, its outlook isn't all that different from MLP's. (I'll need to read to the end to be sure, but it's a good sign that Luna has made so many bad decisions by acting as if she was in a standard grimdark story.)

I can come to terms with Twilight beating luna, but that she did it without a scratch....... That just annoys the hell out of me.

The action scenes in this are very well detailed and vivid. Great job! Holy shit! Definitely in need of a tragedy tag I'd say. I feel like Fluttershy broke through to Dash at the last very second. Maybe Dash will come back to the good side after all of this.

I would love for there to be an evil character named Armageddon with attacks all named after events from the bible book of the same name.

3085621 This story already has utterly amazing characters, both character-wise and power-wise; there's no need for anything more.

Plus, wanting characters for powersets alone, versus any real relevance to the story, is a pretty shallow reason.

IT BEGINS.

That's really the only way to describe this chapter. Never before have I seen everything go so utterly and completely to hell from what seemed like a somewhat hopeful situation so fast. Then again, with how the story has unfolded so far I can't say I'm very surprised.

First of all, we have a nice "throwing insults at each other before the battle" bit between Luna and Nihilus. With Nihilus' raging megalomania and Luna's sense for drama it's hardly surprising. Still, this has pretty much decided the battle in Nihilus' favor already - the person who wins the taunting usually loses the fight.

And then there's the AJ scene. I'm honestly starting to fear for her mental well-being a little. She's killing those puppets too well, and she's doing so too easily. The repeated Earthpony cries don't do anything to help that. At this point I was mainly hoping she wouldn't maim RD too badly.

Aaaand despite Rarity's skill she was captured by the two Unicorn Puppets. I didn't expect both of them to go after a single target (I'd expected them to show up when the battle seemed lost for Nihilus along with the rest of the troops to turn the tide of the battle) but in retrospect it makes sense that Nihilus wouldn't underestimate the mare who gave her that gash. Too bad she and Flutters got separated though, now Flutters can't stare the Unicorn Puppets to dust.

Wrong. Holy hell man, this entire scene was almost as terrifying as the end of chapter 2. Not only did Wrong completely trash AJ and Pinkie, she also seems to have lost almost all of her identity to the Insanity. I'm starting to wonder if she'll really be okay, even if they do rescue her.

And then my prediction came true and Luna got defeated. Although she is certainly more experienced Nihilus' pure magical might combined with insanely powerful war spells is just unbeatable by an Alicorn of her age. I do sense that Nihilus is growing bold - she's captured almost all of the Mane 6 and decisively defeated the only Alicorn opposing her and the Elements are within her grasp.

Pinkie Pie is on the move. And how. I can't even begin to imagine what will happen when she confronts RD or one of the Unicorn Puppets.

Oh god, the fights in this are so incredible!

The dialogue in this story has been top tier.

Even though most of them did not know her personally, they had still heard the stories. There was only one black pegasus in the world.

What? Really? Only one? Seems odd.

She gave a little moue and roughly pushed the pegasus she had been holding away.

Moue: 1.. A small grimace; a pout. 2. A disdainful grimace.

“Not surprising, really,” the pegasus said. “You’ve been doing that a lot lately.”

That sounds like maybe she’s mad at being left behind.

Huh. I was right that she was mad AJ left Rainbow Dash behind, but it wasn’t a sign of Rainbow being in control at the moment.
And fortunately Pinkie can't be killed by dropping her off a cliff. I guess Nihilus forget to tell her pet not to kill her targets?

Luna was not conscious, but she still drew breath. It was a pity, really. Nihilus had been enjoying a good night out on the town. “I won,” she said simply. She lifted the princess by the infernal shackles that held her. “I beat a god.” She grinned.
What did that make her?

Just a very powerful mortal. Mind you, she may well have been the weakest deity of this world, but it is still quite a feat.

It was as though it was empty inside. There was no mind or will for Fluttershy to influence, and so the stare simply passed through it, obliterating the little function that the puppet’s mind had. The pegasus vanished.

Something tells me that won't work on the unicorns, simple as they are.

She tried to push through it, tried to force her way into Dash’s mind, and felt the barrier crack and splinter...
Dash closed her eyes.
After awhile, Fluttershy closed hers, too.
