I had just finished my base, for now. I now had the capacity to make all the units from the game, and a few beside. If I wanted to take this land, probably only the elements could stop me.
"Done." This surprised me.
"What are you done with?"
"Your request for a multi-universal gateway." My jaw nearly dropped.
"You mean, it's possible?"
"You requested this without even knowing if it would work?"
"Well, nothing risked, nothing gained eh?"
"Very well. Here is the Strain." It mentally handed me a blue print.
"Hmm. A variant on the nydus worm that utilizes the leviathans warp capability to the utmost. So instead of just going into warp space, you make a sustainable hole into another universe! But I only see one problem with this."
"What would that be?"
"What about coordinates?"
"There is currently no way to lock on without something from the target universe, or something connected to the system finding its way there, and being activated."
"Why couldn't we just keep the anchor active while it travels?"
"Because then it would just come back here. That is, if it was not in another universe already."
"Start working on a send-able anchor. We will just have to hope that it will be activated by something on the other side."
"Already done." It gave me another blueprint. "I anticipated that you would request it." The anchor was a green, bubbling sphere, that was held in a clear, glass like substance."The only downside is that it can only be activated by someone with at least minor psionic, or magical, abilities."
"Why is that?"
"It needs a catalyst in order to activate."
"Good job on this. I will start the construction of a gateway immediately." Prime Directive demonstrated no sign of pride, that was normal for it. I ordered a drone to morph into the newly designed multi network.
About ten minutes later
"Scouts report that there are intruders inbound." Said Prime Directive, startling me.
"How many?"
"Ten with an Alicornian War Hound, with a group of over a thousand following closely behind."
"Celestia is really trying to zerg rush the Zerg?"
"Apparently so." said Prime Directive with absolutely no sense of humor.
So I started preparing the battlefield. I had planned out my defenses with the knowledge that one, Alicornian War Hounds are absolutely blind to anything but the trail of their quarry while hunting; and two, that ponies have absolutely no sense of how and when to set traps, and by extension, when someone else has set one. Basically, I spammed banelings and burrowed them everywhere. For the Pegasi I made extra hydralisk's. For the Alicornian War Hound, I made an infestor. That was my plan.
"Thank you Occam's Razor!"
"I do not understand."
"That wasn't for you."
"Very well." As I watched the ponies approach, I felt a nag of doubt. Not about the plan, but about killing them.
"Do we still have the essence for the Message Distributor?"
"Yes, we do."
"Let's make one then." The Message Distributor was a structure that let me broadcast messages to any psionic creatures, or anything that could consciously control magic. So I started one, to see if I could deter the attack. Turns out, It took longer to build than I thought. The enemy arrived in the baneling field. I was regretful about the death of the ponies, but I was not going to roll over and die. I had the first batch of banelings come up when the main force was right over them. The army hesitated, and the scouting force pulled farther ahead. Then I had the infestor come up, quickly shoot a neural parasite straight into the skull of the hound, put some fungal growth on the escort ponies, then borrow and return to base.
"The heck is this stuff?" I heard one of the ponies say as I took the Alicornian War Hound. I commanded the Hound to kill, then to come to the Hive. I heard the ponies scream and tasted the warm blood on the hounds tongue. The newly infested always had a way of pulling me into their new-found revelry. I had to shake myself to stop from delving too deeply into the hounds mind.
"I still have a job to do." With that in mind I slaughtered the enemy army with well placed banelings, killing Pegasi that wandered too far from their comrades with hydralisks. They broke formation and ran with a remainder of one hundred and seventy four troops, a staggering loss. Only one thing bothered me about that, it meant that the ponies had great faith in their leader. And one more thing, "Why in the world did Celestia not come?"
Why not give it a timed activation?
Also, was it possible to stall them, or, given a written language, write, even if oversided letters, seen from the air, at least until the psionic communicator finished?
As a general rule, "Don't piss people off". If you do, it tends to result initially with less in the way of help from others. Later, it results in people wanting you dead and forcing you to spend effect defending yourself. Eventually, that ends up being fatal self defence, followed by a snowball clusterfuck where there is no peaceful recovery.
Of course, he doesn't have full control over his decisions, and this is expected from the story type anyway.

I didn't mean to annoy people, Ive edited the potentially irritating part out now. This is my first story (quite literally. the longest thing I've written before was only about one thousand words long.) so I'm still getting experience. But thank you for the recommendation!
4542203 Wait what?
I am not annoyed. That was advise to the character. It applies everywhere. Here, if you are in a potentially hostile foreign country, namely one with messed up laws and so on, generally you want to avoid pissing anyone off to avoid conflicts. Unless you are able to win or are a good enough diplomancer to get out of it, you have a good chance of dying or being imprisoned.

Sorry, I thought you there talking about my writers note, or whatever its called. I understand now. So on to replying to your original comment! Celestia and Luna are convinced that Dahaka is a genocidal (xenocidal, take your pick) maniac. And even if he tried to negotiate with Equestria, him saying that he was being controlled by an evil alter ego would be like Hitler saying the same thing. And if he tried mental communication, Celestia would have no idea what the rules are. So trying something like he did with Chrysalis is out. What other reasonable options are open?
4542586
-Ok. So They already think he is a genocidal maniac. He is mostly unable to communicate until the psonic communicater finishes building/growing. If they write his language, it may be possible to communicate that way. He can spawn units. so that is at least feasible. That is, sky writing. Feasible with pegasi in the army.
-Why can't he normally psionically communicate with Celestia? What rules?
-As for the prime directive, The main thing is to see if there is any way to direct it towards something else. Considering the trivial ease with which a portal is create-able, and soon being able to leave, that is probably the best thing to do. Possible that that is impossible regardless, or forbidden by the Prime directive.
Past that, doing his best to become as powerful as possible is best. Preferably so that staying purely on the defensive is possible. However, the directive makes that unlikely to be possible. Without knowing all the restrictions, and knowing it to be impossible to not go to war, there are few options available.
Well...that was a thing that just happened.
What just happened?

4542868
What are you two referring to? The portal, or the slaughter?
4546206
The slaughter. The portal was expected, as this is a LOHAV fic, so it's a given that at some point your MC would be able to summon and be summoned by other characters.
4546875
Why was the slaughter so unexpected?
4547333
Oh, the slaughter was expected, but a carefully laid-out and calculated slaughter that ended in a completely one-sided victory? That was unexpected.
4547389
It was the zerg, controlled by a former zerg obsessed human. It could no end any other way.
4547633
True dat; Zergs for the win! Although I think they'd be hard pressed if they ever encountered the Mimics from Edge of Tomorrow.

Tryin to zerg rush the Zerg? Not gonna work lol.
4547671
The heck are they?
4548646
Hehehehe
4550453 Think of a Mimic as a writhing mass of barbed tentacles that takes on the properties of the various metals and minerals in an environment, seem to spawn randomly, explode if not killed in a specific way, and have the ability to time warp 24 hours into the past, allowing them to predict the movements of their enemies, because they literally know what you plan to do before you do it.
Broken down into three categories; drones, alphas, and the Omega.
Drones are just that; semi-sentient disposable foot soldiers. These ones seem to spawn at random, and are identified by a red, orange, or yellow glow.
Alphas are the nerve centers of the Mimic horde. They are five times the size of drones, able to control and coordinate up to 10,000 drones at a time, identified by a blue-white glow, and are the catalyst for the mimic time-warp ability; if any one Alpha is killed, it's memories are sent 24 hours into the past, and are implanted into that same Alpha, giving it knowledge of future encounters.
The Omega is the "brain" of the Mimic horde; it not only sustains all other mimics, but relays and regulates the flow of information between Alphas and drones. It is also responsible for the time-warp ability, manipulating energy and electrical impulses to open temporal worm holes that allow it to send an Alphas brain waves into the past. Unfortunately, this ability doesn't apply to the Omega, and if it dies, it releases a shockwave of temporal energy that not only kills all the mimics in that reality, but all mimics in all realities.
(It is a theory amount EoT fans that, if more than one Omega ever existed in one reality, if one was destroyed, the others would be able to lessen, if not completely nullify the resulting temporal shockwave, effectively making the Mimics unstoppable.)

4550597
My goodness, that is AMAZING! The mimics real advantage over the zerg is that they are metal, and so the zerg probably could not copy their ability's. but if they could, the swarm would be even more unstoppable! It would be hard for the zerg to defeat them, but, the omega is the weak link. I think I might just do something with this later.
4551953
Please do; I'd look forward to it.
Also, just so you know, the Omega literally likes like a pod or bulb when on "standby" and stands roughly 8 to 10 feet tall. When active, the pod stretches upward, to about 15 feet tall, then peels open to reveal a gigantic mass of tentacles, and a pulsating purple core. On its own, the Omega is incapable of movement other than using its tentacles to defend itself, but a squad of six Alphas (or forty Drones) can carry it, so it can change location.
Also, the Omega is capable of thought both dependent on, and independent of the Mimic horde, so if something were to access the mimic "hive mind", the Omega is fully capable of isolating itself and the Alphas, or simply engage in deception and subterfuge by planting false information within the Mimic "hive-mind", such as false attack plans, location of "important" targets, and so on and so forth. (Movie spoilers ahead; if you plan on watching Edge of Tomorrow, stop reading now.) In the movie, the Omega made use of this ability by sending false information in the form of visions to the movie's protag, luring him into an ambush where the Mimics attempted to kill him by bloodloss, to remove his ability to travel back in time upon him death, a power he accidentally highjacked after killing an Alpha in a specific way.

I'll do it IF I can think of a way to introduce them with out the story becoming mediocre. But that would be a big problem. Although, now that I think of it, it could be a way for Celestia and Dahaka to sign a peace treaty.
4552063
Actually, I was thinking about that too. I have an idea, and it just might be a first for the LOHAV, but to avoid potential spoilers for the readers, I'll tell you over a PM.
That... Well... If the Lunar Templars wouldn't immediately mistake the Zerg for Tyrranids it would actually be easy for them to get a gateway open.
