Pinkamena Diane Pie, daughter of two respected rock farmers, never asked "Why's" or "Why not's." She didn't care for the things outside of her normal lifestyle. But one day, when her mother sends her to Ponyville for toiletries and food, her mind is filled with questions that can't be answered with a quick glance or thought.

Meant to be a story open to thought, kind of an abstract piece. Interpret the end as whatever you wish.

an interesting look at the effects of corporal punishment on a child's psychological development. ALSO, FIRST!

It's... interesting. Nothing much seems to really happen, though it is an interesting character piece for Pinkie. Still, why exactly she saw herself as an alicorn isn't exactly something one can just shrug away. Nor why she doesn't just, you know, ask Rarity if she went to the Gala. If this is a different timeline from canon, you certainly didn't make it clear.

I guess I'm just not sure what to think about this story. "Abstract" is certainly a good word for it.

This happens before Pinkie is observed in "Cutie Mark Chronicles," so in a way yes. I'll probably go over it sometime this weekend for editing and the normal second glance work, so I'll be sure to incorperate a little more detail on the parts you mentioned. As for Rarity, maybe she did but Rarity didn't answer because she was either too busy or too sad about not going. Open for interpretation, like I said in the description.

I'm not sure if I should take that as a compliment... Also, FOURTH!

For such an abstract piece, I can't think of much to add. Maybe a little more detail on Pinkie's childhood, but that's it. :applejackunsure:

Interesting... very interesting story. I like how it explains so little and leave us to do the work. One of my favorite kinds of stories.
[EDIT]: When I look at your avatar... I can't help but laugh and imagine an episode about it!

Auh...this was sad. :applecry: :fluttercry: :pinkiesad2:
