Broken Phalanx

Perpetually perplexed.

Luna visits Twilight bearing some bad news . . .
Thankfully, it's not quite as bad as it seems at first blush.

~~~
This is essentially me doing a bit of an affectionate parody of the entire 'Exiled Twilight' competition going on; it's not intended to be an insult to any individual. I rather hope you, yes you specifically, enjoy it.
Not much I can do except marvel at the irony of punishing somepony for abusing their authority by forcibly changing them into furniture.
Aha, my trap has functioned perfectly!
In all seriousness, the reason you likely didn't 'get it' was because there was absolutely nothing to get in the first place; I'm not much of a fan of allegory, to say the least. :twilightsmile:
Well, that seems about correct. I enjoy gallows humor and irony; they're essentially my two chief tools in writing. :twilightsheepish:
Ah. . .
I accidentally added this to the Adventure category for shameless self-promoters; if you're here because of that, please take mercy on me! It's been fixed, but I think it'll still show up in people's feeds.
excellent reference to The Once and Future King in the chapter title.
Curses! I was shooting for 'Remarkably tolerable'!
Joking aside, thank you. :pinkiesmile:
How long until somebody flips him?
That's what's done with tables these days, right?
Personally, I think since the vast majority of tables has been flipped, the non-flipping of one is the equivalent gesture in a mostly flipped world.
At least, that's what I'll say to save face.
...that and the fact that nobody would want anything to do with Blueblood even as an inanimate object.
Great idea for the short, but I think that your word choices took away from the storytelling. Sometimes the simplest words are the right ones :twilightblush:
4417810
Yeah, I have a problem with that. Thanks for pointing it out; sometimes I get into a groove, and end up obfuscating my meaning under a mountain of diction that shouldn't . . . well. . . be. :derpytongue2:
I found this story good for a jolly or two. I must point out and question a word in the story from part of a phrase.
for your underhanded actions, We think . . . a month of reduced allowance shall do.
Shouldn't that be underhooved like underhan-ded = underhoo-ved or something like that?
4609463
Ah damn, I knew something was bothering me when I submitted this; guess we found out what, exactly . . . Time to fix.
Thank you for pointing that out! :twilightsmile:
great short story
Thanks for the praise! :pinkiehappy:
4191286 He abused his authority, and now he has literally none, nor even personal agency. He can just...sit there, holding Celestia and Luna's teacups.
Apparently if you piss Celestia off, she turns you into a table. Though she "eventually" changes you back. :trollestia:
