With Celestia and Luna tired of prince Blueblood's pompous ass the two princesses decide that Bloodblue needs a personality adjustment. So with their infinite wisdom they send Blueblood to boot camp for a serious attitude adjustment.
(Author: I've never been to boot camp so if any military bronies are reading this I'll gladly take any suggestions and feed back it really doesn't matter what branch or nation you represent giving you're own personal insight would be greatly appreciated)

I'm not entirely sure the story doesn't lose some of its emotionaly impact due to this. It's a bit like having a story where Gilda gets her comeuppance and starting off with her beating orphans with a tire iron.

You are right I made him to start out like this. He's meant to be an ass in the beginning, but as time progresses I want him to grow out of his old ways. Show him as a more stronger more well mannered stallion who understands the gruffness and best of life due to his experiences. But that's for later on in the story. I just hope you'll consider reading it later on.
4884289 ... yeah, but if he's such an asshole, I doubt readers would want to see him redeemed without intense torture and suffering. That's the problem with certain redemption and accusation fics. You make the focal character too much of a jerk or unsympathetic from the very beginning, no one will want to see him redeemed. The idea of redemption is that HE should want it, not be forced into it. It makes those with such low opinions of Blueblood no better than the worse portrayals of the character.

I see what your getting at, but how can any character see what their doing is wrong if that's what they've done all their life. Blueblood is meant to be ignorant and a total ass throughout the supposed portion of his life he's always gotten his way. He never really cared because he never was taught how to care for others or how to normally act around others. Being papered and catered to has that effect on people. Without any proper guidance people tend to stick to a way they only know just as Blueblood has here in my story.

You would think that Blueblood would know better than to start a fight with ponies that just came back from a fight. Also you might want to proofread more carefully. Case in point, 'cretin' is spelled with an 'i' and you misspelled 'didn't' once. Also 'cast' doesn't have an 'e' in it (unless you are referring to a social class, which in that sentence, you aren't.) and it should be 'arrested' the first time.

4483596 If you don't mind me resurrecting this discussion, I have a possible explanation. The insult came after Applejack let Rarity have the fritters for free. Blueblood could have easily assumed that the two were friends, and thus also assumed that Applejack, by association, also deserved to suffer.
It could also be he just really hates deep fried foods like fritters. It's already a common idea that 'low class' food, which includes deep fried food, tastes worse than 'quality' food, which does not. Therefore he could have tasted something he hated and made a blanket assumption about all of Applejack's wares. A snobbish overassumption, but one with an honest opinion buried deep inside.
Based on the comments, I'm nervous about reading this, but you seem to be executing your premise well. It's just that your grammatical errors are very distracting to me, making it hard to tell when one sentence is supposed to end and when the next begins. Again, I'm interested in reading this, but your story should really be edited for punctuation and grammar.

Some are pacifists for legitmate reasons, holding the belief that the brass has no care for the soldiers, and that "Those chuckle@!*$s in their plush offices don't know what it's like for the troops they send like pawns to their death" of course some took their blame out on the soldiers, often just kids just out of high school.... Blueblood is merely an A-hole... and at best 'not 100% a dick'
