Saw the description, and then the "Mature" rating, decided to read it anyway to see the other parts.
Congratulations, you're the first person who's actually written Fluttershy in such a manner that I felt like slapping her. I'm just glad you had her realize what an absolute ***** she was being and apologize. I mean, there Dash is, at one of the lowest ebbs of her life, trussed up like a pig and held immobile, unable to do anything for herself, reduced to being spoon fed, and actively apologizing for making the mistake she made, and there Fluttershy is to dump all over her? She calls Dash selfish when she's the one complaining how she feels while her friend lies helpless in a bed, in pain, a proud, self-subsistent person like herself reduced to the helplessness of a baby? That's ****ing cold.
As I said, I have never before wanted to actually slap Fluttershy until that moment. The only reason I don't just flip a table over and give this a thumbs-down is because you have her realize that kindness is not taking your friend's apology and throwing it back in her face because you don't agree with their dreams and goals. And yes, complaining about Dash getting hurt IS complaining about her dreams and goals, because stunt people get hurt ALL THE TIME. It's an unfortunate but very real part of the trade and you can't have one without the other.
So a second grats to you for managing to swerve away from OOC Flutters.

Agreed so much, especially when you consider how many stuntmen have died, not to mention considering the blue angels themselves in our world has had a few deaths for a few tricks even well trained ones.
It’s a nice take on the whole Rainbow Dash’s dreams VS her friends conflict, which really defines a good portion of her relationship with the others but can never be covered completely in the show because it’s just too complicated for the target audience.
After all, all her friends can do what they do in Ponyville. But if Dash wants to fulfill her dream and do what her cutie mark is telling her, she has to leave. She has to join a military organization that doubles as a stunt flier team and put herself in danger under numerous types situations.
So will Dash sacrifice her dreams to make her friends stop worrying and spend her life as a depressed weather pony, or will her friends accept that Rainbow needs to put herself in these situations if she wants to really be happy.
Of course the premise alone doesn't make a fic, so let's see how it all develops

That still doesn't change the fact that Dash's dreams involve significant risks to her person at many times. So she's, what? supposed to give that up because her friends don't like it? Selfishness goes both ways, and asking someone to give up what they desire because YOU don't want them to is selfish indeed. Not to mention, again, the whole "hit her at her lowest ebb" part is underhanded and manipulative. Oh, right, they'll have this conversation while Dash is completely immobilized, unable to do anything for herself. She's already feeling like crap, so let's pile it on.
It's bullsh*t, it's mean-spirited, and only the rushed apology saved it from being completely OOC. As it stands now at least it can certainly be passed off due to stress, but throwing someone's apology in their face and using it to berate their life while they're lying in traction right after cajoling the person into being spoon-fed by her friend (at least a nurse would be impersonal) is a b*tch move.
And I already know to stay from those particular stories for their unkind ways, thanks.

While in general most stunt people do, in this universe they don't seem to considering that during an airshow the Wonderbolts had no protection for either themselves, the fans, or anything else.
As later shown during the Wonderbolts academy, they don't give much protection to their students either.
It might actually be a thing in MLP for the Wonderbolts to go without assistance, whether due to pride, old pegasi ways, or such and such.
