To answer your first point, Fluttershy wasn't thinking straight, she was holding her dying friend in her arms. She was scared.
The answer to the second point.
Twilight haven't seen Rainbow Dash after the accident. All she knew was that Rainbow Dash was hurt.
If you want, I can change/remove those part, if it will make the story any better.

The first chapter was strong with sentences with a few problems here and there but honestly this chapter felt a pain to read, the conversations between cbaracters and descriptions felt unnatural. It may just be me though don't take it the wrong way its a strong idea.
