Because there's no REASON for it! Everyone else in Equestria is either pure evil or can come up with a justification for how they act. Heck, some can be both! Blueblood is just... Blueblood.
Why would he act like that? Why would Celestia allow it? And for my fic, how could it not be a bad thing?
Clearly something's up if Rarity managed to stumble her way through the contact without "breaking character", as it were.
Hmm. Perhaps Rarity is also in the intelligence service? She'd be above the pay level of the rest of the Mane Six, so it's not like the show would ever have to mention it.

Well, yes and no. I did invite her into the secret service at the end, but her ability to be totally misinterpreted by Blueblood throughout was supposed to just be a joke. Like "The Man Who Knew Too Little" it was supposed to be total coincidence and comedy that allowed her to be mistaken as a master spy for the entire evening.
I suppose I should've had Blueblood doubt her more, should've emphasized how opaque and easy to misinterpret the codes were... honestly, one good "The pelican flies at sunset" would've solved a lot of problems.
That being said, I was thinking of expanding the network for Blueblood. Flim and Flam are scouts, Trixie's either a rogue agent or internal affairs...

I like it, especially how accurate the unforgiven thing is with some of people on Fimfiction sometimes. Would like to point out though that in Sweet and Elite, think that was the episode's name, that Rarity seemed to be getting along with Blue Blood in the boat christening.
They didn't talk though but everyone seemed happy so.....

As it turns out, a few very sincere letters of apology, some unheeded warnings of "Discord will break free! I swear!" and not one peep of "I told you so" afterwards really smoothed things out.

There does seem to be something wrong when evil deeds are rather easily forgiven, but doing something mildly bad-ish is enough to get you branded a monster for life.

Wow... This is a pretty well-done commentary on how some characters tend to be treated, I think, Blueblood probably being the biggest hate-sink in the show for some people. There are plenty who don't see him, Diamond Tiara+Silver Spoon, Jet Set+Upper Crust, etc. as evil sacks of meat to be brutalized, but a disturbing amount of those who do. Nicely done!

Well, he saved up his royal allowance for a really long time and was able to hire some canvassers which helped a lot... and he also told everyone that it was for a school project. Something about seeing the political process in action... who could say no to a pushy young kid trying to further their education?
Well this collection of stories is very interesting so far. Though it's hard to read them all at once because it is the same basic story over and over. So I'll be stopping here and continuing another day. But you've done great so far.
