Sombra, Princess Luna and Princess Celestia are of the same royal blood. Princess Luna and Princess Celestia are given very high duties in the land of Equestria while Sombra is left with nothing. What becomes of Sombra? How did he turn so evil? Will Luna ever be able to play in the daytime with all the ponies in Ponyville? Or will the shadows take charge of her and Sombra's hearts...

This reads like an outline of a story rather than a story, that's why it reads like that. It is basically a summary of a tale, and just one scene from here elaborated could definitely fit for the competition, given the time. Otherwise, this could be used as a backbone with which to expand each individual part of the story.

I somewhat rescind this comment, now that I have left and come back to read it again. It is more like the introduction during the first episode of the show for a good while. It's almost like a fairy tale.

It is slightly non-canon, but I can dig it.
