After an unexpected and unprecedented magic-related phenomenon, the Mane Six find themselves in an entirely new world, thrust into the midst of the bloodiest battle in American history - the American Civil War. Another problem arises as the Six find themselves split right down the middle at the legendary Battle of Fort Sumter - three Confederate, three Union. Now, the Six are forced to take part in the war - a deadly, four-year battle they can only hope to be rid of soon.

Interesting, I'm curious to see how this turns out.

Robert E. Lee riding AJ Vs Ulysses S. Grant riding Twilight MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!:pinkiehappy:

This is amazing I really want to know how this will work out! Is Fluttershy chilling with Lincoln? Where's Rarity? I NEED TO KNOW!:raritycry:

371126 Glad to hear it! And you shall find out, in due time, don't worry.

This is turning out really well, keep up the good work! :pinkiehappy:

This is a really intriguing concept. Keep it up! I don't know how something like this could get that many downvotes. There are some events that you just don't meddle with, but I think that the Civil War doesn't have to be one of them.

History will always speak of that bizarre talking pink pony that accompanied The Army of Tennessee across all of their campaigns.

The plot thickens... *grabs a bag of popcorn*:moustache:

I never thought the day would come where I could that the MLP cast had been drafted! :ajsleepy::fluttershysad::pinkiegasp::rainbowhuh::raritycry::facehoof:

Looks like the ponies are about to meet one of the greatest presidents to ever live, and yell at him.

Applejack with the Union....eh, I can see you wanted to avoid a clique but it just doesn't seem right. Applejack should have been a Confederate.

Keep it up! This story is good!

Silverstein222 out!

400748 You have absolutely no idea how many people have said the same exact thing. When the idea first came to me, I already had the two groups set....it was only after giving a friend of mine a "trial" section of the story did they point out to me AJ's redneckishness :applejackunsure:
Still, works for me. And thanks!

400757

It's ok. Shit happens! :rainbowlaugh:

Still, I can't wait to see what you do with this thing! :pinkiehappy:

Silverstein222 out!

AJ's a slaveowner, too. :applejackunsure:

I like how you characterized Lee as gentle, sympathizing, and loyal in order to try and distance him from his bad reputation. I'm guessing he's going to be one of the main human characters?

I love it I love it I love. Now for my joke, Jeff Davis is mad, Robert E. Lee is a pretty cool guy and Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkie are all gone with the wind :pinkiegasp::raritydespair::fluttercry:

410152 You'll see. But, most likely. I find his true character, the non-Confederate, non-slavery, and all-around intelligent character to be a lot kinder and better for his story rather than his reputation.

410185 I don't hear too many Civil War jokes. That one made me legit smile and chuckle. :rainbowlaugh: Good stuff!

This had great funny and dramatic moments. I'm going to keep my eye on this one.:pinkiehappy:

All of a sudden, "Hush now, quiet now" is giving me the creeps. :rainbowderp:

436708 I apologize if this sounds stupid, but I don't quite follow. Why does it give you the creeps? And, are you referring to the song from "The Big Bang theory"? Or something else?

Ah. Thank you for clearing that up for me. Makes sense now.

Please don't have fluttershy kill things, its just wrong.

A Update? :yay:

I never stated this in my first comment but this is a interesting take on the Pony on Earth story-line. The story has a great plot and the mane 6 are in character and are fun to watch them learn more about the world they are in.

Twilight Rage Sparkle has appeared! :twilightangry2:
I actually feel bad for AJ :ajsleepy:

I can safely say Dixie Pie is GREATEST PONY EVER!!!!:pinkiesmile::heart:

... Ok, now I've seen it all.

edit: YOU MADE DASH A DIRTY YANKEE!!! This will not do!

Will fave once I read through the story.

Very good job thus far.

I have a question. I know the time frame of the Civil War (April 1861 - May 1865 for the woefully uneducated folk out there), but what is the time frame for this story? Would you even tell me?

465501 i cant tell you a whole lot about the ending. i can tell you the time frame ends during a significant event before Appomattox. i know, not a lot, but i dont want to ruin the surprise

Nightmare Moon strikes again :twilightangry2:

Now that I have finally gotten around to finish reading it, this is definitely one of the most interesting Fanfics I have ever read.

Damn, Pinkie. Just... damn!

This is actually historically accurate and you ponified it well. Good work.

:pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

Silver out!

Damn...well-written and underrated! Moving up!

Silver out!

I've just done some reading, and since the Southern 3 are with General Bureguard, will the Battle of Hampton Roads and the CSS H.L.Hunley - USS Housatonic affair be mentioned?

525256 Good sir (or madam), do you read minds? I've had the beginning to Act II typed out for a while now, due to it being a trial run, and it is in fact the Battle of Hampton Roads!:rainbowhuh:Not exactly way you're expecting, but nonetheless!

It's sir. So I'm guessing that's also a yes on the sinking of the USS Housatonic?

Possibly. But that wouldn't come until much later, due to the dates involved and the way I've set up my acts.

Well done soldier! Advancing!

:pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

Silver out!

Wow, you actually used the nightmare the RIGHT way! Unlike other writers, (me) that screw up the nightmare or make it drag on, you found a middle ground for it! That takes skill!

Even veteran writers trip up there!

Silver out!

Great job using the nightmare...a stroke of genius. This story is underrated. :pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

Silver out!

This is the pinnacle of imagination right here! I never thought I could say the words "Pinkie Pie is a valued member of the Confederacy" but today I finally can!:heart:

Once again, you have done a fine job.:moustache::moustache:
No point in saying first; doesn't seem as glorious to me

Now we await the Southern 3's exploits with the CSS H. L. Hunley!
