Harmonic Revelations

E

Discord's rule is often considered one of the darkest parts of Equestria's history, but the spirit of Chaos himself just doesn't see it that way. Sure, being "reformed" came with the benefit of no longer being trapped in a shell of stone, but he can't help but feel he sold himself out. As he strolls through the Canterlot gardens, he ultimately takes time to reflect on the past, specifically, his own.

This is brilliant. I love the intelligent feeling of this piece.
This is by far one of the best short stories I have read here.
Well done.

:trixieshiftright: The Great and Powerful CD is pleased with your interpretation of the Chaos God, and will now give you a comment praising it as well-done, with good language and description.

Thank you very much. This is actually my first attempt at a non-comedy related fic.

I am pleased with your satisfaction. :moustache:

I like it. A very heavy piece dealing with the larger hidden issues that abound. You have to embrace change as it is the only thing that is constant. I liked how it was written as an internal monolog/ reflection, something that I haven't seen very often. It almost felt like an essay, but a good one at that. Well done.

I like it. It's a great interpretation of how Celestia and Luna might be doing more harm than good for the world around them. I especially love that they aren't really doing it on purpose. They don't seem to be represented as villains, but instead they are shown as something like children with a dangerous toy they don't fully understand. Though I suppose that's my interpretation.

Good luck on the contest.

I don't see how this makes Discord look better. What he believes is just the collective output of his inner rationalizations. Any antagonist can rationalize what they do to others. I do like how the piece was written. I think it was well done. Though I wonder why he believes that the natural state is a chaotic world when such things really are not that simple in Equestria. Since Discord behaved like a monarch, was he any better than the princesses? Good work.
7.5/10

I have to say, he's not wrong in that the ponies are a bunch of control freaks. "Lesson Zero" being a prime example.

So good I'd call this story an imperfect perfection! Good job, pal. May chaos and order follow you in equal measure.

Or are they two sides of the same coin. I mean, Discord likes to talk about chaos and freedom, but he limit that freedom by ruling as a monarch?
