Peace Studies, reminds me of Ministry of Peace...

“Y’know,” said Hafer, hugging his Colt 9mm SMG, “Giving students automatic weapons and then letting them go all over colleges and universities is pretty crazy.”

I wonder how the finals look like... :rainbowlaugh:

Also, I love Russian, even though my all knowledge of it bases on similarities between Russian and Polish

Peace Studies, reminds me of Ministry of Peace...

I thought that I was going to hate peace studies. I actually enjoyed the class. They really should call it conflict studies or war studies, because it is essentially studying wars and why people fight, but not from a military perspective. I enjoyed my course in it. I ended up using it to write a paper about the Mexican Drug War while also defending gun rights. :)

Finally finally someone writes ponyfics about one of the none NATO/Middle-Eastern wars on terror.
the fact that the writer is pretty good also counts as a plus

Thank you. I write about things like irregular warriors and postsoviet conflicts, because those are the things that I know how to do well and they interest me. Also, everyone and their goldfish has written something about NATO and the War on Terror. I can write something different which will stand out from the scores of American Soldier In Equestria fics or from all the fics which just transplant the War on Terror into Equestria by changing just a few things around. The stories I write are influenced by the Afgan and Chechen conflicts, particularly the latter.

:twilightblush: I'm glad you like them. You read, commented, and appreciated first Bratan and now this story, which I really appreciate, especially because I actually wrote these as serious pieces. And now you are watching me.

I Did Not Want To Die -- протагонист Чечнэнин.

No, I do not hate Chechens. I try to give complexity to the wars I write about. As in the real word, there are no complete heroes or villains. My story, I Did Not Want To Die, is about a Chechneyan. In the stories, Zebricy has not always treated Chechneua well. The federation wants peace. However, they are also in a place which does not want them, with a people who do not see themselves as Zebricans. They had and alliance with the king and troops in the country. When chaos broke out, they fought to preserve peace. However, they used very harsh methods. The Chechneyans did not take well to this, and see themselves as being invaded and occupied by a foreign enemy. They want to be free. The Zebricans don't see it as occupying, but as peacekeeping; they're trying to maintain order in a foreign land full of people who have no respect for their benefactors, and who don't know what's best for themselves. The conflict would either be over if the Chechneyans accepted Zebrican stewardship, or if the Zebricy would accept that Chechneya does not want them interfering in their country. Unfortunately, neither side is going to back down. It is simply retaliation, answering every wrong with another wrong. Sorry if my Russian sucks.

4138763 Well, in that case, you seem to have a better grasp of what is really happening there than most people do.

I wrote here about the conflict in the story. I only draw paralells from the real world; I'm not describing the real Chechnya issue, although I do have a fairly good grasp on that, too.
