I am best pony. And I have decided to answer all my comments, as that is a nice thing to do. Cause I love comments, and seek to increase their number for the improvement of my craft.
My first real comment! (Mysecsha is an alpha reader, he doesn't count) I'm sure you don't know how instrumental you were in me getting chapter 2 done. Whenever I would get lazy, I would look at that MegaTrack and tell myself "I have a fan! Get off your lazy, clacky backside and write!"
I love that this fic is basically The Thing mixed with the whole Vault 22 atrocity. Like I said... So good. So good, in fact, that I am unable to write a long ass critique. So good!
It's shaping up really nicely, and I'm liking the characters a hell of a lot. Not too much depth that they feel forced, but not too little so they seem two dimensional. The narrative is brilliant, I really want to know more about what's going on in both timelines and I have to say the description is spot on. I can picture every scene with such ease. Good work!
hmm...a FO:E fic done from a third person perspective, looks to be interesting the characterization is excellent, the story is a little hard to follow given that it jumps between different characters very rapidly, but it's not a big deal the plot looks to be very interesting, the reaction to the wasteland should be interesting, given each character's vastly different view on life am definitely looking forwards to more of this
I'm always happy to hear when people like the characters. I'm generally happy with my ability to write action, but I've fallen in love with these characters and I worry sometimes I am insufficient to get them across at the level they deserve.
I love FoE fiction, but third person just felt right. I'm about 5k into the Stable arc's dramatic conclusion. The whole graduation and job hunt thing kinda put me behind, but we are back on the train.
And I'll keep an eye out for excessive perspective shifts. I can almost guess the scene that is the biggest offender. I wasn't 100% happy with the number of shifts, but the requirements of the narrative dictated them. But looking at 3 and the outlines of 4 and 5, there shouldn't be that much jumping again.

Always not go out like a bitch.
Man, Octomind seems incredibly powerful. I imagine it comes with some pretty serious drawbacks (drilling into horn? Ouch!)
And our protagonist seems to be less than 100% pure pony (claw?). Should be interesting to see if we get some more of that.
