Clacky is best. Hooray for Clacky!

MEGATRACK

WHEN NORMAL TRACKING IS NOT ENOUGH

I'm getting vibes of 'The Thing' from this. I approve.

Well, didn't read it here but I loved it when I read it on gdocs, so you get upvotes, faves, the whole shebang. Awesome story, looking forward to the next chapter.

Yeah! It's Clobberin' Time!

...whaddaya mean, wrong Thing? :derpytongue2:

I already gave you my two cents over in the gdocs chat, but I thought I'd just let you know I'm looking forward to seeing this continue.

I am best pony. And I have decided to answer all my comments, as that is a nice thing to do. Cause I love comments, and seek to increase their number for the improvement of my craft.

My first real comment! (Mysecsha is an alpha reader, he doesn't count) I'm sure you don't know how instrumental you were in me getting chapter 2 done. Whenever I would get lazy, I would look at that MegaTrack and tell myself "I have a fan! Get off your lazy, clacky backside and write!"

331435

I get those vibes, too.

Thank ya kindly.

The meat train has left the station. Who's gonna make it to the end of the line?

Feel free to jump me with awesome feedback anytime!

I'm happier than I can really explain that you're still on board. :derpytongue2:

I love that this fic is basically The Thing mixed with the whole Vault 22 atrocity. Like I said... So good. So good, in fact, that I am unable to write a long ass critique. So good!

It's shaping up really nicely, and I'm liking the characters a hell of a lot. Not too much depth that they feel forced, but not too little so they seem two dimensional. The narrative is brilliant, I really want to know more about what's going on in both timelines and I have to say the description is spot on. I can picture every scene with such ease. Good work! :pinkiehappy:

hmm...a FO:E fic done from a third person perspective, looks to be interesting
the characterization is excellent, the story is a little hard to follow given that it jumps between different characters very rapidly, but it's not a big deal
the plot looks to be very interesting, the reaction to the wasteland should be interesting, given each character's vastly different view on life
am definitely looking forwards to more of this

I'm always happy to hear when people like the characters. I'm generally happy with my ability to write action, but I've fallen in love with these characters and I worry sometimes I am insufficient to get them across at the level they deserve.

Buck tradition :rainbowwild:

I love FoE fiction, but third person just felt right. I'm about 5k into the Stable arc's dramatic conclusion. The whole graduation and job hunt thing kinda put me behind, but we are back on the train.

And I'll keep an eye out for excessive perspective shifts. I can almost guess the scene that is the biggest offender. I wasn't 100% happy with the number of shifts, but the requirements of the narrative dictated them. But looking at 3 and the outlines of 4 and 5, there shouldn't be that much jumping again.

Ahhhhhh!
Ahhhhhh!

This is my favorite Fo: E horror fic 8)

FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Talk about the worst cliffhanger in the universe!

But seriously, to get out of the nightmare vault only to get shot in the face by some looter fuck, well, damn.

737963

Fugga! Fugga! WOO! WOO!

737976

It might be a tad bit cliffhanger-y. On the plus side I A) am not graduating, moving, and starting a job search at the same time this go around and B) ended up writing large chunks of 4 when I got hung up.

Stay tuned cause the drought is over!

a nightmare image from the mind of the author!

Yes. Peer into the blackness of my soul... through a doodle I did on Dabbleboard.com. This is the world of wickedness I live in!

This is one of the best FO:E fics that I've read, it being in a third person narration rather then first person, makes it all the more serious, keep it up!

742252

I'm glad your enjoying it. The third person tool box has been serving me well, if I do say so myself.

742257 Your story is the first third person FO:E fic that I've read, I guess everyone just follows the original and uses a first person viewpoint, plus first person is probably easier for most people to write for, though as you've shown, third person allows for easy view point switching

742386

Third person is where it's at! There could be no "Fugga! Fugga! WOO! WOO!" if this was all in Lancet's perspective.

To think it only took three chapters to let slip the mare of the future's name. Welcome officially to the story, Tink!

Tumble! We shall miss thee greatly.

Seriously. I dunno what it was about that character but FUCK I loved every minute of him.

This is one of the most fun reads I've had in a long time. You sir, have all the internets. Because you totally deserve them.

In all seriousness, this was a great chapter. I loved the cliffhanger at the end, and I am greatly enthused to see more.

SSSSSSSSSSSSgood.:rainbowdetermined2:

Always not go out like a bitch.

Gizmo SAYS HI :rainbowhuh:

748996

A moment of silence for the loss of swag that diminishes us all...

That should do it.

750739

There was something amazing for me watching you comment 1, 2, and 3 in one sitting. It was exhilarating. :pinkiehappy:

and yes. NBA Jam is best reference.

ARE YOU REALLY gonna reply to every comment I makes?

762212

Indeed, although I reserve the right to ramble, not address your points, or respond in innuendo.

What about this one?

762224

I like that one. Mainly because you spell out the word 'one'. That's something that really irks me, when people throw numbers in prose. Don't get me wrong now, I use numbers in prose. Stable 48 would just look weird as Stable Fourty-Eight. And I wouldn't expect someone to write out 1,395,035. But you should spell out two and the like. Just looks better.

But look at me letting fancy mathematics muddy the issue.

762392

A) um... Is that Hillary Clinton?

B) next time I get to be rainbow dash

762667

wait... that really IS Hillary Clinton... I don't know if that makes it more or less win...

:rainbowdetermined2: THIS is the BEST. FALLOUT. EVER.

But you killed off all the badasses... Y U DID?

895092

Not ALL the badasses. Besides, we are one chapter away from finishing the Stable 48 arc and getting to the first Wasteland arc. We can find Wasteland badasses there! I would contend that Cider is no slouch in the badass department as well. Although I will miss Tumble and Chief, there is plenty more badass to be had.

While I'm commenting here, it's a good time to say 'sorry for the delay!' Both my laptops died the same day and I've been without for the last week.

895153 lol don't apologize to me for timing I only found it today :rainbowlaugh:

maybe apologize for telling me that Wild fic was any good :pinkiesick:

895169

Different strokes for different folks I suppose. I highly recommend Wild Sky Yonder, but it isn't the same kind of story by any stretch. Homecoming is horror, Wild Sky is a coming of age story.

Homecoming wouldn't exist without WSY and Mysecsha. I was captivated by the story and when he was looking for prereaders, I was ecstatic to be brought on board for chapter 3 on. After working on a few chapters as an alpha and sounding board he asked if I had anything written. I showed him the first 8k of Homecoming. It was a tense-confused, poorly-attributed wreck. He and Drakmire held my hand through the first chapter and BEAT correct grammar and proper pacing into me. I attribute the fact I've written something remotely readable to them giving hard but fair criticism on my premier chapter, and for Mysecsha continuing to be my alpha reader, sounding board, accountability holder, and pretty, pretty princess.

Watching, Favorited and waiting patiently... patiently...
Gizmo IS a terrifying little nightmare though, I mean seriously I just about jumped off the couch when he showed up!
