My thoughts on immortality eh? Hm... I'm rather blunt so I'd probably tell her if I were in her place that I'd decline the offer. Why is rather complicated because I have several reasons. The simplest to explain would be you wouldn't truly know what living is. Sure you would live forever and have both good and bad times, but you would never change as the word around you does. As time progresses and culture changes you may not find yourself capable of adapting and the amount of misery it would bring wouldn't be worth it. You'd have to become so devoid of emotion or desensitized to death that your nothing more than a living corpse emotionally. You would never know how to have fun and love every day like it was your last, you'd never be able to hear your children's voices and most importantly they'd have to see a world filled with death and have no power to stop it. They can protect their ponies but all of them will eventually pass into a grave and like I said before they would be emotionally dead inside after a while and while not mentally dead they are as good as dead. without being able to stop deaths call on the mortal ponies they'd eventually feel either useless or that no matter what good they do it's ultimately futile because all of their ponies eventually die. And this ends our trip into my insanity.
I would take the deal, since being unable to have foals isn't a downside for me and the hair i wouldn't care about it comes down to outliving most people i know in this scenario. Since you could still die from a big enough wound according to Celestia, suicide is always an option to end your life if you no longer wish to be immortal
I'd love to see more! Twilight's alleged immortality is one of the most interesting things to debate, I would say she would be the type to reject the offer. You should write more though! Awesome fic! ^^
Twilight, I notice, didn't consider the inverse situation with her friends: that, as a mortal, she might pass before them, leaving them without her. I suppose that's a natural bit of selfishness that all people (and ponies) have.
