Also, as for that family, there aren't many straight ships I have seen so I tried to include the ones i like into my stories. They already had a nice story behind them.
If ever it was rumoured these two might be canonised in this way, I'll surely burst with ecstasy if that happens.
Granted it likely won't lead to an actual romance for them but just some interaction wouldn't go amiss.

At least it can officially be said they shared a moment or two since standing side-by-side when seeing off Applejack in The Last Roundup and possibly the beginning of Spike At Your Service when they walked off in different directions, Fluttershy with Winona in tow.
