This was beautiful. It shows Octavia in a caring way, that is haunting too. It shows her caring for fillies and colts of possibly a "lower status" than her. Fillies and colts that could end up in a foster home every other day.

With every event, ones good and bad, she wrote a song. First for the old and scratched piano; later, for the rough cello that would become her signature instrument in later years.

Hauntingly beautiful, my friend.

Very beautiful, I enjoyed it very much. I highly enjoyed Octavia's portrayal as a caregiver to the foals. It gave her a deeper character than the usual classy style, she's commonly given.
