slow down man/lady. the idea is sound and thought out, but there's a lack of detail that shows the surroundings, emotions (everything can't be exclaimed), and overall appearance through both verbal and non verbal communication.
in general, pace yourself and add details.

Second, you have some good ideas, but the execution is kinda bad. Your chapter is mostly dialogue with little to no description, if you describe more where they are, the characters actions, and their feelings, we the reader will get more attach to the story, and get more satisfied when reading the chapters.
Also,
Never use the asterisk like this, is lazy and unprofessional (yeah I know, this is fanfic, but a little bit of professionalism isn't gonna hurt nobody, and it can actually be the difference between an okay story and a really good one).

What's the relationship between Spike & Celestia ?
3658823 From all I can tell, not much. If you watch when Twilight hatches the egg that Spike's in, Celestia isn't even there. Not until a huge magic explosion and a full grown dragon appears out of thin air and then disappears, does she even show up. There is no explanation for where the egg came from. As far as I see it, Twilight is Spike's mom since she was the one to hatch him and was the first pony he saw. So I guess it'd make Cadance his Aunt by marriage. But I thought why not ship them? It makes for an intriguing story and I don't really take shippings seriously anyways.

3702640 Well, what I stated was just my observation from watching the show. I have no say so as to what the true relationship status is, but it's always fun to fill in the blanks when there are some.
You wrote in here that both Spike and Cadance are rather apprehensive about telling the crystal ponies, Celestia, Luna, and the Mane 6 about what is potentially a new relationship blooming. Specifically, saying that they both believe that there's gonna be a bit of a backlash because of the possibility of a romance between a pony and a dragon.
I have to respectfully disagree. I think that if anything, the crystal ponies would actually love the possibly being Spike as Cadence's consort at least (I have a feeling that we don't quite want to give him a crown). And basically the reason would be that he's the one that recovered the Crystal Heart and returned it to Cadence when basically all hope was lost while the Crystal Empire was enslaved. I also bet that the crystal ponies, or at least some of them, already have a few rumors going about between Spike and Cadence, especially since Spike's been here for Cadence from basically day 1. Considering that Spike's been with Cadence all the way through her birthing Skyla, and also being her "papa" when she was alive, I have to believe that there are some that already see Spike as a Prince of the Crystal Empire anyway. And that continues to mutilply knowing that it was Spike that basically ruled the Empire in Cadence's stead while she was in grief of Skyla's death. Plus, he's got the stained glass in Canterlot---he's the Crystal savior.
And as for the Alicorn Sisters and the Elements, I think that they would be happy for Spike and Cadence. Sure, at the beginning there will be trepidation, but knowing Spike personally, I believe that they would be proud that Spike stood for Cadence in her time of need. Every ruler needs their no. 2, and it would show that Spike was more than the ideal choice when Twilight mentioned so many years ago to have Spike take residence with Cadence after Shining Armor died. I know Celestia and Luna would be more than relieved that Cadence is back to being herself again, and even more so that she's not gonna be alone, despite losing Shining Armor. Twilight would be proud of Spike, Rarity would as well, if not a little envious (Spike could potentially become royalty by marrying Cadence, something that Rarity's always wanted), and the rest of the mane 6 would be beyond relieved and elated of seeing the Princess of Love and the Crystal Savior in their midst once again.
