Royal duties used to be the only thing on newly crowned princess Twilight Sparkle's mind. When Princess Celestia summons her to discuss the responsibilities that come with the title of Princess of Magic, Twilight learns the truth about alicorns and their purpose to life in Equestria. The weight of the crown is measured in the bodies and souls of the citizens of Equestria, but that's not to say that both are needed to maintain balance and order.

Really promising so far, I can't wait to read the next chapter! A little strange for Celestia to suddenly be so harsh, tho.
Oh, two little things - There's another 'alacorn princess' in the story and some 'you're's should be 'your's instead:)

Can't say I've read anything similar myself, but I can tell you that I drew inspiration from a variety of different things: the Magic Current for example was taken from the pagan belief in lay-lines (with obvious changes and creative liberties), and I drew inspiration for the visuals in the Holding Chamber from one of the early scenes in the 1st Resident Evil movie, just to name a few.
Well, it's been a long long long time, so I don't remember the reasoning behind it, or if Cadence even existed at the time. But I do remember a one shot about Unicorns being used to power Magic while in stasis under Canterlot, and Celestia ending up stuffing Twilight in one in the end.
or maybe she stuffs Luna in it.... I can't remember, but it sounds very very familiar!

I've only been a fanfic reader for roughly 5 months, and in that time I've only read a handful of fictions (slow reader, but I remember every detail). Though if you ever find said story, I'd love to give it a read because I do love this fictional idea of using living beings as power cells, an idea popularized in works such as The Matrix, and Coma by Robin Cook (the latter being more about harvesting, but still an eerie concept I've grown to love in Sci-Fi)
Plus this first part is only intended as a setup for a much bigger scheme, and goes beyond the bowels of Canterlot

Oh well, it was a one shot that ended about how this chapter did, so I do wonder what you will have happen next. Will the elements be pushed into there with her? 
will Discord come and save her? 
Will Luna trip on a rock and break her neck?

Is it just me,or is this like one of the Docter Who episodes?U know the one where he takes Rose to the future and everything's perfect and no illnesses but it's becuz ppl in tubes like these r "supplying" it?

I like it, it's a neat concept, but...
I don't know, to me I think Celestia would know her own student well enough to realize she would be less than accepting of such a duty. I can't really see her going about luring her into something like this in such a way. It might have been better if she was more sneaky with the concept, hiding a few details from Twilight and keeping her in the dark about where all that magickal energy was coming from.
That's really the only big qualm I have with the story though, nice job on it, evil Celesita is the best Celestia!
Dude I really feel sad and depressed. I'm shaking and my chest feels like ice. Gosh your YouTube led me here. It also lead me to read Sweet Apple Masacure (which was a terrible story BTW, like u said). And its night and, I know it sounds stupid but I'm really freaked out man. Celestia seemed so evil here. So out of character. Though, to be nice, u did put the alternate universe tab. Now to go watch something happy to calm myself.
Well I wonder what if DISCORD were to find out about this and revealed it to the whole world and then what if Starlight got wind of this, that is to say if it's before her village was found by Twilight and the girls, she could try and removes Celestia's cutie mark to make her powerless then. Of course I would love to see what kinds of things Discord would do to the world while Twilight is locked up, unless he would do things to keep Celestia busy while the Mane 6 go to free Twilight.
With the power of our lovely seven books of Sparkle, Twilight shall be summoned.
