It has been quite a while since Spike made his journey to visit the other dragons, and he still knows that he has a home with his pony friends, especially his caretaker, the newly-found alicorn princess, Twilight Sparkle.
But something has still been bothering him, and the nightmares he has been having recently aren't helping. He wants to know just where he came from before Twilight hatched him during her test.
Spike is determined to finally discover his past, but will he be happy with what he learns?

I read this while I was signed off when I got on this morning, and I instantly loved it. I knew I had to instantly favorite it, because Spike is my top favorite non-pony/background character. Twilight is being a good caretaker in this trying to comfort Spike as best as she can while he is sad and wondering about where he truly comes from.

Yeah, most of his stuff gets put up there by other people pretty fast. But I got to see him draw it on his streams and saw the finished product on his deviantART, and I instantly had ideas for this story. Within about 5 minutes of him uploading it, I had his permission to use it as cover art. His art seems to get used quite a bit for cover art, whether it be stories or music, or something else. :3
