Rainbow Dash lives an exciting life and is swiftly becoming the most daring, awesome pegasus in all of Equestria. She would gladly give it all up, though, just to confess her love to Applejack.
Across Twilight Sparkle's bedroom, all of the mares sat chatting and chortling. A purple Canterlot night hung outside the draped windows.
While the friends blinked off the exhaustion from the previous day's Gala recovery, a pair of ruby eyes peered across the sea of sleeping bags.
Curled up in the corner of the room, her golden bangs softly illuminated by a lightning bug lantern, a country mare slept. Her lips hung open, and her freckled nose wriggled once... twice. There was a momentary twitch to her ears, and then her body was still—save for the gentle rise and fall of her lithe form, brought on by angelic breaths.
I love you, Applejack.
I love you.
I love your integrity. I love your strength. I love your ease at achieving awesomeness. I love your courage and your tenacity and your fearless athleticism.
I love the way you defend everypony without question, even when it might seem lame to others. I love how you risk your neck for your fellow mare. I love how you can do so many amazing things without a horn or a pair of wings to help you—just your guts, your guile, your wits.
I love the color of your coat. I love the golden fullness of your mane. I love your muscles and your hardened fetlocks and your bold rear legs.
I love your eyes—how so much softness can be carried in such hard-chiseled shapes. I love how they reflect me—and only me—whenever you look my way. I love them when you are happy and even when you are mad, because they are still your eyes.
I love your freckles; I wish I could dive into a sea of them. I wish I could drown in your laughter. I don't care if your voice sounds low or if your country drawl could dredge the lengths of the Ghastly Gorge. It only goes to show how much depth and maturity and mystery there is to you. When I think of your voice, I feel it in every square inch of me. I imagine I'm nuzzling my cheek to the bosom of the Earth herself, and she's happy and loving enough to sing me to la-la land with even the simplest of phrases.
I love how dedicated you are to your family, because it teaches me every day that no matter how many trophies I get—I could still stand to be better. I love that you are dedicated to bigger things, more precious things than even I can comprehend. I love that you sacrifice so much and deserve even more.
I love the fact that you inspire me. Simply by being you. Simply by showing me that it's possible to be perfect in this world, even if perfection itself is oblivious. I've loved the fact that you haven't known all this, and now that you do know—I still love you. Because I am certain that, even if I've freaked out every living inch of your soul with these words, there's a part of you that will still forgive me, that will still love me back, as a friend, as a sister, as Applejack, as the way things have always been and should be.
But that will never change the fact that—no matter what happens or the way things go—I will only ever love you more.

Man... I still can't get over the fact that we're actually reading this right now. Not gonna lie, I honestly did notbl expect an end.
But you know what they say about all good things.
6079776
End? You are mistaken, this is only a small step in this story. The chapter prologues imply some sort of marriage or future point where everything comes together. I think we have a ways to go. Maybe IC wants to change up his RD writing to include some AJ pov. Or just mor AJ. We shall see.

6079776 An end? Really? Pfft, yeah right, just wait and see. Big Boss will show up, Lancie will eat the note, Romulus will foalnap Applejack, and this story will continue for another five hundred glorious appledashing chapters.
6079817
If he does, I'll find the nearest sledgehammer and pound his head so hard it'll turn it, and the rest of him, to fine sand.
And that's a promise.
6079842 LOL, J/K, but seriously, I don't think that this story will be ending anytime soon. I guesstimate that there should be at least 200 more chapters in order to resolve all the plot points
Just Essay, you have moved me with your writing. I'm going to use these words as an inspiration to my wedding speech.
Also, this story deserves more recognition.
Appledashery isn't even close to done. If the Austreaoh series can go on for over 1,200 chapters, I think this story might be just as long.
I feel like something is wrong though. I'm reading Urohringr right now, and I just can't stop thinking that everypony's a changeling.
And so, even though RD has written this letter, the story isn't over. We all need to remember that most romance stories have about 2 chapters of buildup before they have a varying amount of lovestruck ponies galloping around eachother. Since this part of the story is still the buildup, I can only assume that after AJ and RD finally cuddle, then the story will continue in a slightly different direction, but still be Appledashery.
Many things are still not solved. For instance, Big Boss is still doing his thing. And the pony mafia dudes are getting ready to crash the party down in Ponyville (thanks to Frederick Flim and Felix Flam), along with Rommulus. Even after Big Boss is defeated, who's to say that some weird Discord stuff might not go down? When he finally gets his full power back, who's to say that he might not be chaos-bound still? I'm pretty sure that he even did that in the actual show, so he might in Appledashery as well, until he finally realizes that RD is his friend and all that great super snazzy stuff. I can't wait for this story to just keep going.
6079842
Fine, then you take care of the chaos rift that'll cause.
Even if she delivers the letter to AJ (which is questionable), the story has a long way to go. But, they could Appledash it together.
6079934
Not every obstacle needs defeating.
6080339
Oh, I understand that completely. An obstacle can always be skirted around, or maybe even become a new friend, but that doesn't mean that there aren't obstacles that do need defeating. Big Boss is definitely going to be a "defeat the obstacle" type. Whether or not Discord will be an obstacle, or a miracle, I don't know. Maybe he destroys the world. Maybe he heals RD of her disease. Or maybe he just does what Discord would actually do and just eats paper while asking for a glass of water. We just don't know.
6080424
What makes you say that I need to be defeated? The reason why *cough* others *cough* are gathering shards isn't really clear, is it?
6080451
I swear, if Big Boss ends up being a good guy who was just collecting the shards to prevent the reassembling of an ancient chaos lord... I'm definitely blaming you.
Sounds like this could be the end of the letter, so maybe, just maybe we (and the letter) are getting somewhere in a few chapters
What a shame everything is about go downhill... into a minefield, of sadness.
Oh, man. Please don't make me fall in love with Applejack.
So sweet and adorable. Can't wait to see what happens next
6080494
I have been straight up bawling for the last three chapters.
I'm gonna partially plagiarize this letter someday, I hope you don't mind.
6079817 it seems prophetic that by the time I read this comment the story has 500 more chapters
On one hand, I'm amazed that she's finally said it.
On the other, I'm painfully aware that with more than a third left, the plot will conspire to prevent AJ from actually reading that letter. Maybe now is when the Aatxe/Don Canter kaizo hits the fan.
Word count is still off...
You go Dashie, this is really sweet.
Please let Applejack get to read this...
This letter...
