Short, sweet, and to the point. Personally, I feel this was way too short and could have had maybe >5,000 words because the story telling was very rushed. A nice, original idea (as far as I know
), but went, again, way too fast. I like, however, that this wasn't just a mess of dialogue, and instead was dominated by story telling.

3566983 Generally, my standards are as follows: <8,000 words for a one-shot (like this) and >2,000 words per chapter on a novel/novella/novelette. I subconsciously rank 1-2,000 word one-shots rather low. I have two purposefully terrible one-shots at ~1,000 words and they're like that because I didn't try. That may be the reason for my own standards.
This was a rather nice short story. I would've liked a bit more with Luna and the shopkeeper, and maybe at least one detailed bit of her sneaking into a house to give the presents to the foals. You could even have a funny bit where the dad discovers her and chases her away, thinking she's a thief or something! I don't know, but overall this was enjoyable.
